ropz Says IEM Atlanta 2026 Is “Not a Priority” for Team Vitality

Team Vitality rifler Robin “ropz” Kool has revealed that IEM Atlanta 2026 is not one of the organization’s priority tournaments, even as the team continues its deep playoff run in Counter-Strike 2.

The Estonian CS2 star made the comments after Vitality secured a playoff berth at the ESL event. Despite entering the tournament as one of the favorites, Vitality showed inconsistent form during the group stage.

The team opened IEM Atlanta with a victory over BC.Game before suffering a surprise loss to BetBoom. Vitality later recovered with elimination wins against FaZe Clan and B8 to stay alive in the competition.

According to ropz, the team arrived in Atlanta without significant preparation following a packed tournament schedule and several recent championship victories.

“We didn’t practice,” ropz said in an interview with HLTV.

He explained that Vitality lacked sharpness in several areas, including communication and mid-round coordination, but emphasized that the roster still wants to make the most of every official match ahead of the upcoming Major.

Vitality Still Focused on Winning Despite Reduced Preparation

Although ropz admitted that IEM Atlanta 2026 is “not a priority event,” he denied that the roster has become complacent after its dominant start to the year.

“Complacency is not an issue,” ropz stated.

The Vitality player credited the team’s coaching staff and internal structure for helping maintain motivation despite a packed schedule and multiple trophy wins.

Even with reduced preparation, Vitality remains one of the strongest CS2 teams in the world in 2026. Earlier this season, the organization made history by becoming the first team to win two ESL Grand Slam titles.

The French organization also captured the BLAST Rivals Season 1 trophy after defeating NAVI 3-0 in the grand final. During that series, ropz produced several crucial clutch rounds and was widely praised for his playoff performance.

Vitality vs NAVI Headlines IEM Atlanta Playoffs

Vitality’s next playoff opponent at IEM Atlanta 2026 is NAVI, setting up one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

ropz admitted that both potential playoff opponents offered interesting storylines. He noted that NAVI would likely be motivated by revenge after previous defeats to Vitality, while a matchup against Legacy could have provided a rematch opportunity following Vitality’s earlier loss at the Austin Major.

The upcoming Vitality vs NAVI showdown is expected to be one of the most-watched CS2 matches of the week as both teams continue preparing for the next Valve Major cycle.

Vitality Continue Dominant 2026 CS2 Season

Despite some inconsistency in Atlanta, Vitality’s 2026 season remains one of the strongest campaigns in modern Counter-Strike history.

The current roster featuring:

Dan “apEX” Madesclaire

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut

Robin “ropz” Kool

Shahar “flameZ” Shushan

William “mezii” Merriman

has already secured multiple S-tier trophies this year and continues to lead global CS2 rankings.

ropz previously stated that the roster is trying to avoid setting “extreme goals,” despite its dominant results throughout the season. However, Vitality remains one of the clear favorites for every major CS2 tournament entering the second half of 2026.
