MIBR’s kl1m Targets Deep Major Run After Confidence-Boosting Wins at CAC 2026
After securing a place in the semi-finals of the CS Asia Championships 2026, MIBR AWPer Klimentii 'kl1m' Krivosheev said the team’s recent results have given the squad a major confidence boost ahead of the upcoming IEM Cologne Major 2026.
MIBR advanced to the final four in Shanghai after defeating B8 2-1 in the upper-bracket final, continuing an impressive run that already included victories over 3DMAX and PARIVISION earlier in the tournament.
Speaking after the win over B8, kl1m explained that beating a high-ranked opponent like PARIVISION validated the work MIBR had put in during their extended bootcamp ahead of the event. According to the Russian sniper, the team’s recent preparation has translated directly into stronger performances on stage.
“We worked well and improved a lot of things,” kl1m said, adding that victories against elite opposition helped the team gain belief and approach every match with much greater confidence.
The 20-year-old AWPer has been one of the standout performers of the tournament so far, averaging a 1.27 rating during MIBR’s playoff run in Shanghai. Over the last three months, kl1m has also maintained a strong 1.20 overall rating, placing him among the better-performing young AWPers in tier-one and tier-two competition.
MIBR’s resurgence at CAC comes after a relatively quiet period following their appearance at PGL Bucharest 2026. The organization chose to spend significant time preparing specifically for both CAC and the Cologne Major, and those preparations are now starting to pay off.
One of the most important moments of MIBR’s campaign was their dominant 2-0 victory over PARIVISION. The Russian squad entered the event hoping to recover from a worrying decline in form, but MIBR exposed many of the same issues that have plagued the team in recent weeks. PARIVISION struggled heavily on the T side and managed only two T rounds across the series against the Brazilian side.
That win appears to have changed MIBR’s mentality heading deeper into the tournament. Against B8, MIBR looked composed on Inferno and Ancient, maps where kl1m said the team felt fully prepared for everything their opponents attempted. Although Mirage proved more difficult, MIBR still closed out the series to secure a playoff berth in front of the Shanghai crowd.
The timing of the team’s improvement could be crucial. MIBR will begin their Cologne Major campaign from Stage 1, but kl1m believes the squad can build on its current momentum and make a surprisingly deep run at one of Counter-Strike’s most prestigious events.
According to the AWPer, MIBR are now aiming for at least Stage 3 — and potentially even a playoff appearance — at the Major.
MIBR’s confidence also reflects broader optimism surrounding the lineup. Felipe “insani” Yuji has been in exceptional form throughout the event, including a historic performance against PARIVISION where he produced one of the highest-rated maps ever recorded at an MVP-level event.
The Brazilian side now find themselves among the strongest-performing teams in Shanghai alongside favorites such as Falcons, who also reached the playoffs despite several close series earlier in the tournament.
While kl1m acknowledged Falcons as one of the most dangerous teams remaining in the bracket, he insisted MIBR believe they can compete for the title if they continue their current form.
