Falcons and MIBR Secure CAC 2026 Semi-final Spots as insani Sets Historic MVP Event Rating Record
Team Falcons and MIBR became the first teams to lock in direct semi-final berths at the CS Asia Championships 2026 after winning their upper-bracket seeding matches in Shanghai. Their victories also pushed both squads one step closer to lifting one of the final elite trophies before the upcoming IEM Cologne Major cycle.
Falcons continued their strong run at CAC with a clean 2-0 victory over Legacy. The international lineup had already survived several close series earlier in the tournament, including a narrow opener against BC.Game and another tense playoff-clinching victory, but this time they looked significantly more composed in key rounds.
The Saudi-backed roster entered the tournament under heavy scrutiny following inconsistent results throughout spring 2026, but their Shanghai campaign has shown signs of stabilization around the star trio led by Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač. Falcons’ progression to the semi-finals also keeps alive hopes of finally converting their expensive roster project into another major international title contender ahead of Cologne.
On the other side of the bracket, MIBR delivered one of the most explosive performances of the event so far by defeating B8 and continuing a dominant streak that began earlier in the group stage against PARIVISION.
The biggest talking point of the match was another monstrous display from Felipe 'insani' Yuji, who produced a historic 3.28 rating on Ancient — officially the highest map rating ever recorded at an HLTV MVP-level event.
The Brazilian rifler has been one of the standout players of the entire tournament. Earlier in the week, he had already dismantled PARIVISION during MIBR’s playoff qualification series, where he posted multiple maps above a 2.30 rating and helped his team become the first squad to secure a playoff berth.
Across the event, MIBR have looked revitalized compared to their inconsistent early-2026 form. The addition of improved structure around players like Klimentii 'kl1m' Krivosheev and Carlos 'venomzera' Eduardo has transformed the Brazilian side into one of the most dangerous teams in Shanghai.
Meanwhile, both Legacy and B8 were pushed into additional quarter-final matches after missing the chance to advance directly into the final four. Legacy had previously impressed by surviving a difficult group that included wins over TYLOO and a dramatic series against The MongolZ, while B8’s playoff qualification victory over The MongolZ had been one of the tournament’s early surprises.
The CS Asia Championships 2026 playoffs have already delivered several unexpected storylines, including early exits for teams such as Team Liquid, M80, 3DMAX, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
With the semi-final field beginning to take shape, attention now shifts to whether Falcons can maintain consistency deep into a playoff bracket and whether MIBR’s surging form — powered by insani’s record-breaking performances — can carry the Brazilians toward one of the organization’s biggest trophies in recent years.
