ZywOo powers Vitality past FURIA and into StarSeries Fall upper final

Vitality advanced to the upper-bracket final of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 with a commanding 2-0 victory over FURIA, overcoming an early deficit on Mirage before shutting the Brazilians out after halftime on Dust2.
Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut delivered the defining performance of the series. The French AWPer recorded 39 kills, a 1.63 HLTV Rating 3.0 and 107.5 ADR across the two maps, driving Vitality to 13-8 and 13-5 wins. William “mezii” Merriman supplied the secondary impact with a 1.45 rating and a series-high 84.6% KAST.
The result moved Vitality into the upper final against Aurora, one victory away from a place in the best-of-five grand final. FURIA dropped into the lower bracket, where they were set to face MOUZ in an elimination series.
FURIA’s Mirage advantage disappears in one costly round
FURIA selected Mirage after removing Anubis, while Vitality answered with Dust2 and left Cache as the unused decider. The choice initially appeared justified: FURIA established a 5-1 advantage on the T side by stretching Vitality’s defense and converting several close situations.
Their control of the map unraveled in a chaotic 3v2. FalleN carried the bomb toward B while the rest of FURIA pressured A, allowing mezii to intercept him and recover a round that had looked firmly in the Brazilians’ hands. It was more than a single economic setback. The error gave Vitality an opening, and ZywOo immediately took control of the comeback.
He produced five opening kills and 15 frags in the first half, including an aggressive AWP triple that prevented FURIA from rebuilding their momentum. Vitality recovered all the way to a 7-5 halftime lead, turning a potentially one-sided opening into a favorable defensive half.
ZywOo remained decisive after the switch. He contributed a triple in the second-half pistol before ropz won a 1v2, then rescued Vitality with a 1v3 clutch when FURIA threatened to answer. Another three-kill round carried his team into double figures.
Vitality eventually closed Mirage 13-8, winning 12 of the final 15 rounds after their 1-5 start. ZywOo finished the map with 26 kills, 117.5 ADR and a 1.99 rating. Mezii added 17 kills and a 1.63 rating.
For FURIA, the collapse was particularly damaging because it came on their own pick. Molodoy had been the team’s best player during the opening stages, posting 20 kills and a 1.23 rating, while YEKINDAR added 20 kills and 98.5 ADR. Neither contribution was enough to offset the loss of several high-leverage rounds.
Dust2 exposes the gap between the two teams
Vitality carried that momentum onto Dust2, their map pick and the same battleground on which they had already beaten magic 13-9 in the opening round.
The first half was more competitive than the final score suggests. ZywOo helped Vitality recover a 3v5 against pistols with an early four-kill round, but the bulk of the attacking pressure came from apEX and flameZ. Their multi-kills repeatedly broke open FURIA’s setups and gave Vitality a 7-5 lead at the interval.
YEKINDAR’s individual plays kept FURIA within touching distance before halftime. Once the sides changed, however, the match became completely one-sided.
Vitality won all six CT rounds required to finish the map 13-5. ApEX topped Dust2 with 20 kills, 103.7 ADR and a 1.62 rating, continuing his unusually productive individual tournament. Ropz followed at 1.37, while mezii ended the series with a 1v2 clutch.
FURIA had no player above a 1.00 rating on the second map. KSCERATO came closest at 1.28 on Dust2, but molodoy fell from a 1.23 rating on Mirage to 0.60, while YEKINDAR dropped from 1.09 to 0.58. Yuurih finished Dust2 at 0.53 and FalleN at 0.88.
That lack of sustained firepower left FURIA without a route back into the series. Their first-half resistance depended on isolated multi-kills; once Vitality tightened their defense, the Brazilians failed to register a single CT-to-T response round.
Series player statistics
| Player | Team | K-D | ADR | KAST | Rating 3.0 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZywOo | Vitality | 39-25 | 107.5 | 79.5% | 1.63 |
| mezii | Vitality | 27-22 | 80.8 | 84.6% | 1.45 |
| ropz | Vitality | 24-23 | 58.9 | 82.1% | 1.12 |
| KSCERATO | FURIA | 28-31 | 92.0 | 79.5% | 1.10 |
| apEX | Vitality | 29-25 | 69.4 | 66.7% | 1.05 |
| flameZ | Vitality | 29-27 | 71.3 | 71.8% | 1.02 |
| molodoy | FURIA | 29-31 | 84.3 | 69.2% | 0.94 |
| YEKINDAR | FURIA | 28-31 | 79.7 | 53.8% | 0.85 |
| yuurih | FURIA | 19-25 | 48.9 | 79.5% | 0.80 |
| FalleN | FURIA | 18-30 | 51.5 | 61.5% | 0.76 |
ZywOo was the clear statistical leader, but Vitality’s distribution also separated the teams. Mezii recovered from a 0.93 rating in the opening win over magic to post 1.45 against FURIA, while apEX followed his tournament-opening 1.56 performance with another high-impact map on Dust2.
FURIA experienced the opposite trend. KSCERATO, molodoy, yuurih and YEKINDAR had all exceeded a 1.10 rating in their 2-1 opening victory over MIBR. Against Vitality, only KSCERATO remained above 1.00 across the series.

Vitality turn repeated maps into a cleaner victory
Both teams entered the upper semifinal with winning records, but their routes had been markedly different.
| Team | Previous opponent | Result | Maps | Leading player |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vitality | magic | 2-0 | 13-6 Mirage, 13-9 Dust2 | apEX — 1.56 |
| FURIA | MIBR | 2-1 | 11-13 Inferno, 13-6 Nuke, 13-6 Cache | KSCERATO — 1.30 |
Vitality had played the same two maps in their opener, giving them a 4-0 map record after the FURIA series. Their performances also became more convincing: they conceded 15 total rounds to FURIA, compared with 15 on Dust2 and Mirage against an understrength magic lineup alone.
The source of their impact changed without reducing their control. ApEX and ropz led the victory over magic with 1.56 and 1.47 ratings, while ZywOo rose from 1.50 in the opener to 1.63 against FURIA. Mezii’s improvement supplied another major difference, giving Vitality four separate players who had produced a standout map during the opening two rounds.
FURIA, meanwhile, could not reproduce the balanced output that had carried them past MIBR. Their opener required three maps after an 11-13 loss on Inferno, but four players still finished that series at 1.13 or higher. Against Vitality, their individual level fell away once Mirage turned, and Dust2 offered no recovery.
Vitality therefore entered the upper final against Aurora with a 2-0 series record and a perfect 4-0 map score. FURIA’s defeat did not eliminate them under the tournament’s double-elimination format, but it removed their margin for error: every remaining match would be a fight for survival.
