Mongolian roster The Huns Esports have clinched the final place in the CS Asia Championships 2025 (CAC 2025) by defeating Alter Ego 2-1 in the Asia Closed Qualifier grand final. With this victory, they become the 16th and final entrant in the tournament set to take place in Shanghai, China from October 14 to 19, 2025

This win not only shored up their qualification but cemented their status as rising contenders in the Asian scene. Prior to this, The Huns had already shown strong recent form in both LAN and online settings.

The Huns’ Recent Form & VRS Standing

  • In recent weeks, The Huns have collected notable victories:
    • They beat Chinggis Warriors at MESA Pro Series Fall 2025 and the eXTREMESLAND 2025 Mongolia Open Qualifier 1 on LAN.
    • They also performed well in the CS Asia Championships 2025 East Asia Open Qualifier online.

  • Their VRS (Valve Regional Standings) rank has climbed accordingly. The Huns now sit as Mongolia’s best team behind the MongolZ, with a VRS position of fifth in Asia following these strong showings.

Match Details: The Closed Qualifier Grand Final

The Huns’ decisive moment came in a Best-of-3 against Alter Ego in the Asia Closed Qualifier, which had high stakes — the winner takes the final ticket to CAC 2025.  Let's break down the maps:

  • Mirage: Alter Ego took the opening map, 13-11, showing strong CT side defense early.

  • Nuke: The Huns bounced back with a 16-13 win, narrowly edging Alter Ego. Key rounds were tight; momentum shifted in late Nuke halves.

  • Ancient: The decider was more decisive; The Huns closed it 13-9 to seal qualification. Their T-side rounds proved strong and they managed to shut down Alter Ego’s approaches in key defensive setups.

Players like xerolte, nin9, cobrazera were standout performers especially on Nuke and Ancient.

Significance & What This Means Going Forward

  • For The Huns: This marks a major milestone. Not only have they secured a spot at a major international event, but their recent wins suggest they’re peaking at just the right time. Their experience in qualifiers and LANs will be invaluable on the Shanghai stage.

  • Competitive Depth in Asia: With The Huns rounding out the field, CAC 2025 has a full roster, offering more representation from Asia, especially Mongolia. The strength of regional qualifiers implies that underdogs may cause upsets.

  • Fan & Organizational Impact: Securing qualification will likely increase support, visibility, and possibly sponsorship for The Huns. Their climb in VRS positions adds legitimacy.

  • Match-ups to Watch: When the tournament begins, it will be interesting to see how The Huns fare in group stage matches — especially how they handle more established teams in their group. Form, map pool, adaptability, and composure will be crucial in Bo3 and later stages.
