Tauson after GL’s opening win in Bucharest: “We talked about getting our inner belief back”

GamerLegion snapped a five-match skid with a 2-0 over FlyQuest to start PGL Masters Bucharest, a result that left Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof relieved and optimistic about the team’s mindset. He said the team had “lost [some] inner belief” during ESL Pro League and at the CS Asia Championships (CAC), but felt they managed to bring confidence back on stage in Bucharest.

The series versus FlyQuest was closer than the sweep suggests (19-15 Dust2, 13-11 Overpass), with Tauson top-fragging to guide GL over the line. “I wouldn’t call it clean… they really fought for it, but we managed to close it,” he noted.

Individually, Tauson said his consistency improved after the summer role tweaks that moved him toward anchor positions, which he feels suit him better. He also praised new AWPer Milan “hypex” Polowiec, saying the Pole has a very high peak and showed promise on Overpass in the FlyQuest win.

Roster context: hypex in, Kursy benched

GL’s AWP change arrived in mid-September: hypex was bought out from Betclic and installed as the starter, with Jeremy “Kursy” Gast moved to the bench after FISSURE Playground 2. The plan was for hypex to debut at ESL Pro League Season 22 Stage 1 (Stockholm, September 27).

Recent form: rough EPL & CAC runs

The confidence dip Tauson referenced tracks with results: GL exited early at CAC after a 1-2 to Lynn Vision, and they also suffered losses at EPL S22 in early October.
