GamerLegion have officially announced the return of Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski to their Counter-Strike 2 roster, with the Polish veteran taking over in-game leadership duties from Erik “ztr” Gustafsson, who was recently benched. 

Veteran Leader Returns

Snax, 32, rejoins GamerLegion for a second stint after previously leading the squad from late 2023 into 2024. During that period, he helped the team qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen, one of the most competitive global events in CS2, before departing the organisation to join G2 Esports. 

Having first signed with GamerLegion in September 2023, Snax brought a wealth of experience from his celebrated career — including his peak years with Virtus.pro, where he was consistently ranked among the world’s top players and became one of Poland’s most iconic Counter-Strike figures. 

Recent Team Changes at GamerLegion

The roster shift comes amid internal changes for GamerLegion. Key developments include:

• Benching of IGL ztr: The Swedish leader had been with the team since July 2024 and led GamerLegion through their highest HLTV ranking position around the June peak, but inconsistent results later in the year saw the squad slip down the rankings — prompting the change.

• Coaching Departure: Long-time coach Ashley “ash” Battye recently stepped down due to burnout, adding to the organisation’s leadership reshuffle.

These moves reflect GamerLegion’s intent to stabilise their core and regain consistency on the competitive CS2 circuit. 

Snax’s Career and Impact

Snax is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished Polish Counter-Strike players of all time. His professional career began over a decade ago, and he has competed on numerous top-tier squads, including Virtus.pro and G2 Esports. 

He combines deep tactical knowledge with leadership skills — qualities GamerLegion hope will provide direction to a youthful lineup that also features players like REZ, Tauson, PR, and hypex according to current team listings.
