StarLadder Unveils LORGAR RANKINGS: $50,000 Tier-2 VRS CS2 LAN Set for April

StarLadder Expands the Tier-2 CS2 Ecosystem
According to a report by HLTV, StarLadder has officially revealed LORGAR RANKINGS, a new Tier-2 Counter-Strike 2 LAN tournament focused primarily on Eastern and Southern Europe. The competition will culminate in a studio LAN final on April 25–26, 2026, with a total prize pool of $50,000.
The event is structured to provide a clear competitive pathway from open entry to offline play, blending grassroots qualification with ranking-based invitations.
Qualification Structure
Open Regional Qualifiers (March 12–15)
The first stage will be played online via FACEIT. Teams from eligible Eastern and Southern European countries — including Poland, Ukraine, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, the Balkans, and the Baltic region — will compete for advancement.
-
Top 16 teams move on to the Closed Qualifier.
-
The open format ensures broad access for emerging squads.
Closed Qualifier (March 20 – April 10)
The 16 qualified teams will battle in an extended closed stage lasting nearly three weeks.
-
Top 4 teams secure LAN spots.
-
This longer qualification window increases competitive integrity and reduces variance compared to short bracket formats.
VRS-Based Invitations
Four additional teams will be directly invited to the LAN based on the European Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as of the April 6, 2026 ranking update.
This ensures:
-
Participation from high-performing Tier-2 teams
-
Competitive relevance within Valve’s ranking ecosystem
-
A balanced mix of established contenders and qualified challengers
LAN Finals Format
The offline stage will feature:
-
8 teams total (4 VRS invites + 4 qualifier teams)
-
Single-elimination bracket
-
Best-of-Three (Bo3) matches throughout
-
Studio LAN setting in the Schengen Area (exact venue to be confirmed)
The compact two-day format increases broadcast intensity and competitive stakes, rewarding consistency under LAN pressure.
Strategic Significance
LORGAR RANKINGS reinforces StarLadder’s renewed investment in Tier-2 CS2 competition. With Valve’s ranking system playing an increasingly central role in invitations and Major pathways, events aligned with VRS standings have growing importance for organizations outside Tier-1.
For Eastern European teams in particular — a region historically rich in talent — the tournament offers:
-
Direct LAN exposure
-
Structured qualification opportunities
-
Financial incentive
-
Ranking impact potential
By combining open qualifiers with VRS invites, StarLadder positions LORGAR RANKINGS as both an accessible proving ground and a performance-driven competitive benchmark within the 2026 CS2 calendar.
