Sources: “device” set to join 100 Thieves in major CS2 lineup shift

What’s going on
According to multiple sources speaking to HLTV.org and Dust2.dk, the Danish sniper Nicolai “device” Reedtz is in advanced negotiations to join 100 Thieves.
If finalized, the transfer would mark the end of device’s second spell with Astralis — a stint that began in October 2022, following his earlier departure from Ninjas in Pyjamas.
This move is likely to reunite device with long-time teammate Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, who has reportedly accepted a head-coach role at 100 Thieves as part of the organization’s rebuild.
Why this matters: 100 Thieves’ return to Counter-Strike
100 Thieves officially confirmed their return to Counter-Strike in November 2025, marking their third attempt to establish a competitive CS roster.
Their first signing after the comeback was Norwegian veteran Håvard 'rain' Nygaard — formerly of FaZe Clan.
If device joins, it would give 100 Thieves a powerful core of experienced players and a coach — signaling serious ambition to compete at a top level in CS2.
device’s background and recent history
device has long been considered one of the greatest CS:GO players ever, known for his consistent AWPing and versatility.
During his current second stint with Astralis, he helped the team reach the grand finals of events like PGL Astana and FISSURE Playground 1, and secured their first Major appearance in three years — though their run at the Budapest Major 2025 ended at Stage 2.
Still, with 100 Thieves reassembling their roster, device may see this as an opportunity for a fresh start under a new banner.
What’s next — and what’s unclear
-
The deal is not yet official: there’s no confirmation from 100 Thieves, and no signed contract has been publicly announced.
-
100 Thieves need to build a full competitive roster: as of now, with rain, device, and potential coach gla1ve — they still need additional players to complete their core lineup.
-
The upcoming weeks will likely bring clarity: both sides may release official statements once paperwork is finalized and roles are agreed upon.
