Sinners Complete CS2 Roster With Signing of Romanian AWPer MoDo

Czech esports organization SINNERS have officially announced the signing of Romanian AWPer Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea, bringing their Counter-Strike 2 roster back up to full strength ahead of the 2026 competitive season. This addition represents a key change in the team’s ongoing roster evolution following several adjustments throughout 2025.

The move comes after SINNERS benched sniper Peter “Pepo” Ružička in late December 2025, a decision confirmed by the organisation via social media platforms. Pepo’s performance during his tenure with SINNERS was considered underwhelming statistically, as he posted an average rating of 1.02 — the lowest on the team over that span — prompting the club to look for a new AWP presence.

Who Is MoDo?

At just 22 years old, MoDo is a Romanian professional Counter-Strike player known for his proficiency with the AWP. Prior to joining SINNERS, he played for 9INE, where he made a notable impact, maintaining a strong competitive rating and helping his team achieve significant tournament results. Most notably, MoDo and 9INE won the Birch Cup and finished second at Fragadelphia Blocktober, narrowly missing out on qualification for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 — a high-level achievement that highlighted his potential as a top-tier sniper.

Throughout his time at 9INE, MoDo boasted a solid performance output with an average rating around 1.07 during his recent stint prior to the transfer — a mark that placed him among reliable rifleers at the events he participated in. While competitive statistics from HLTV show he has accumulated hundreds of maps and competitive experience at the professional level, his true impact is better seen in his team results over 2025 and deep runs at online and LAN events with 9INE.

SINNERS’ Recent Roster History

The 2025 season saw SINNERS make several key adjustments aimed at improving their competitive standing. Mid-year, the team shifted towards an international core by signing players like Pole Kamil “kisserek” Banak and North Macedonian Jordan “stressarN” Manevski, moving away from a mostly Czech lineup. This was part of a longer-term strategic rebuild intended to bring new talent into the squad and bolster their performance at higher-tier competitions.

The current SINNERS lineup, with MoDo incorporated, now includes:

  • Sebastian “beastik” Daňo — Czech Republic

  • Max “SHOCK” Kvapil — Czech Republic

  • Kamil “kisserek” Banak — Poland

  • Jordan “stressarN” Manevski — North Macedonia

  • Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea — Romania

  • Jakub “Bfull” Kokoška — Coach (Czech Republic)

This lineup reflects a continuation of SINNERS’ international focus, blending a mix of Czech talents with rising stars from across Europe. The integration of players from different regions represents an ongoing adaptation to the current CS2 competitive landscape, where international synergy and flexibility are often prioritized.

How SINNERS Performed in 2025

SINNERS closed out 2025 with a strong finish in several regional and online events, including success in competitions such as the ESL Challenger League. These results helped SINNERS rise to their peak VRS ranking of 40th globally by the end of the year — a notable achievement considering the roster churn and competitive inconsistency earlier in the season.

Despite not qualifying for the StarLadder Budapest Major, the roster’s late-season form demonstrated potential, largely driven by improved team cohesion once kisserek and stressarN had settled into their roles. The signing of MoDo can thus be seen as an attempt to capitalize on that momentum and provide the team with a consistent sniper presence.

Strategic Implications and Future Outlook

The addition of MoDo addresses a clear tactical need for SINNERS — a player capable of anchoring the AWP position with greater reliability than the bench-listed Pepo. Given MoDo’s performance history and versatility, analysts expect him to bring both firepower and strategic depth to the squad, particularly in tight rounds and post-plant scenarios where AWP utility is crucial.

SINNERS are currently positioned around the top 70 in global team rankings, according to HLTV data, and are invited to compete in BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1, scheduled to start soon. With MoDo now part of the roster, the team aims to build on their end-of-year achievements and break further into elite competition levels.

Community Reaction and Broader Context

The CS2 community has responded with a mix of optimism and curiosity following the announcement. Fans see MoDo’s signing as a step toward a more competitive SINNERS lineup, particularly given his role in 9INE’s strong tournament performances last year. Some discussions online also highlighted the team’s shift away from a predominantly Czech core — a long-term identity change for the club that once stood as a symbol of Czech esports pride.

As SINNERS prepare for their next competitive cycle, the inclusion of MoDo is expected to be a central talking point, both for supporters of the team and CS2 analysts tracking how newly assembled international rosters adapt and evolve in the coming months.
