MoDo signs short-term deal with 9INE following OG exit

Romanian AWPer Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea, 22, has officially joined 9INE on a short-term contract, solidifying a transitional arrangement after parting ways with OG. The move gives MoDo stability while allowing 9INE to maintain consistent firepower during upcoming events.

MoDo had already been playing with 9INE since June, even while technically benched by OG, and his new contract formalizes his role for the interim.

Background: From OG to 9INE

OG benching & transition

Earlier in the year, OG opted to bench MoDo as part of roster restructuring, leaving him in limbo for several months.

Despite that benching, MoDo had the flexibility to play with 9INE under OG's permission, essentially already aligning with them informally. Now, that arrangement has been converted to an official short-term contract.

Contributions to 9INE: recent performances

During his stint with 9INE, MoDo has been integral in several notable finishes:

  • 3rd place at Glitched Masters 2025

  • 4th place in ESL Challenger League Season 50

  • 7–8th at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025

  • Champion of Birch Cup 2025

  • 2nd place finish to Fnatic at Fragadelphia Blocktober

These results reflect both his personal impact and 9INE’s competitive potential with him on board.

Why a short-term contract?

Rather than committing to a long-term signing, 9INE and MoDo have opted for flexibility. There are a few reasons this approach makes strategic sense:

  1. Roster fluidity
9INE may want to test long-term compatibility before committing to a full-term contract, especially with roster moves often coming between seasons.

  2. Event-based needs
With tournaments like Fragadelphia and others on the horizon, a short-term deal allows 9INE to maintain consistency mid-season without locking in to a long-term path until performance dictates.

  3. MoDo’s own flexibility
Given his benching by OG, this arrangement gives MoDo the opportunity to prove himself in a prominent role while keeping future options open.

MoDo’s profile & recent stats

  • Age: 22 years old

  • General rating: Over recent months, he’s averaged a 1.09 rating in matches with 9INE.

  • Career maps: 715 maps played in his Counter-Strike career

His statistical consistency, especially in a high-pressure AWPer role, gives 9INE a reliable core to build around for these short-term pushes.

Implications for 9INE & upcoming events

  • Stability in key spots
MoDo strengthens the AWPer position for 9INE, giving them a known commodity and reducing reliance on stand-ins.

  • Competitive continuity
With MoDo already experienced with the roster, integrations and chemistry disruption are minimized.

  • Motivation & pressures
The short-term aspect places emphasis on performance: MoDo must impress to potentially extend or solidify his standing, and 9INE must capitalize immediately.

  • Strategic positioning
The move may be designed to ensure 9INE remain competitive in VRS-weighted tournaments and better their standings for Major qualification.
