On January 18–19, 2026, Sharks Esports capped off a dominant performance at the inaugural BetBoom RUSH B Summit Season 1 by defeating Made in Brazil (MIBR) in a dramatic best-of-five grand final in São Paulo, Brazil, securing the championship and the top prize of $30,000 USD. 

The victory marked the end of an eventful week in which eight teams competed across a double-elimination bracket for a $50,000 prize pool and VRS points. Sharks went undefeated throughout the Summit, topping the upper bracket with wins against several strong opponents, including Imperial and Legacy, before facing MIBR in the final. 

Epic 3–2 Grand Final Showdown

In a thrilling five-map series, Sharks edged out MIBR 3–2 in one of the most competitive finals of the event. The maps played were:

1. Inferno – MIBR took the opening map 13–9.

2. Ancient – Sharks responded with a 13–8 victory.

3. Mirage – MIBR regained the lead 13–7.

4. Overpass – Sharks forced a decider with a 13–10 win.

5. Dust2 – Sharks completed the comeback, winning 13–5 to secure the series.

The series lasted roughly 4 hours and 30 minutes, underlining the intensity and competitiveness of the matchup. 

Standout Performances and MVP Honors

Sharks’ aggressive and consistent play earned them the title, with Daniel “rdnzao” Monteiro being named the tournament’s MVP by Dust2 Brasil. His impact alongside teammates such as gafolo, koala, maxxkor, and doc was critical in pushing Sharks through tight situations, especially in the latter maps of the final. 

For MIBR, the roster featuring players like LNZ, insani, brnz4n, and kl1m also drew praise for their strong showing despite ultimately falling short. This was MIBR’s first LAN showing in some time, and the runner-up finish helped soften the disappointment following a recent failed bid to secure a closed qualifier spot for IEM Rio earlier in the week. 

Impact on Global and Regional Rankings

With their championship performance, Sharks climbed 15 places in the Global Valve Regional Standings (VRS) — moving up to 32nd globally and to 8th in the Americas VRS. This is an important milestone for the organization, which has been steadily improving on the international stage. 

Road to the Title

Sharks’ path through the BetBoom RUSH B Summit was notable for both consistency and resilience:

• Early Rounds: They dispatched Keyd Stars and then Imperial with decisive victories, establishing early momentum.

• Upper Bracket Final: Sharks overcame Legacy to secure their spot in the grand final.

• Lower Bracket Runs: MIBR, after dropping from the upper bracket, knocked out strong competition to reach the final, showcasing enough depth and adaptability to challenge Sharks in the decider.

Tournament Format and Context

The BetBoom RUSH B Summit Season 1 ran from January 14 to January 18, 2026, and featured a double-elimination playoff structure with best-of-three matches until the final, which was a best-of-five. The tournament took place in Sao Paulo, with live LAN play observed throughout. 

Teams from across the Americas region attended, including rising and established rosters, making the event a valuable opportunity for regional CS2 squads to gain competitive experience and VRS points ahead of larger international events. 

Looking Ahead for Both Teams

Following the Summit, both Sharks and MIBR are set to appear at BetBoom Circuit X Redemption Curitiba, a $25,000 event expected to feature a competitive South American field. This indicates that both teams will continue their post-Summit momentum into further LAN competitions. 

For Sharks, the title not only brings prize money and ranking improvements but also reinforces their status as an emerging threat in the CS2 competitive ecosystem. For MIBR, the second-place finish — while bittersweet — offers valuable experience and suggests potential for future success with continued development.
