Sharks Extend CS2 Core Until 2030 Ahead of IEM Cologne Major 2026
Brazilian Counter-Strike 2 team Sharks have secured the future of their roster by extending the contracts of Danilo “doc” Barros, Victor “gafolo” Andrade, and Daniel “rdnzao” Monteiro through 2030 ahead of the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
The organization confirmed the long-term renewals shortly after qualifying for one of the biggest tournaments in CS2, continuing a strong year for the Brazilian squad as they establish themselves among the top teams in the Americas region.
Sharks Lock Down Core Roster Before CS2 Major
According to an official report published by HLTV, the three players will remain with Sharks until at least the beginning of 2030. The move provides long-term stability for one of Brazil’s fastest-rising Counter-Strike organizations ahead of the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
Sharks qualified for the Major through the Americas circuit and will enter Stage 1 as the seventh-highest-ranked team from the region. The Brazilian side is set to face HEROIC in its opening match.
Long-Term Vision Behind Sharks’ CS2 Project
The organization’s strategy appears focused on building a sustainable roster rather than pursuing short-term roster changes common in modern Counter-Strike.
In comments shared by Dust2 Brasil, Sharks coach Hélder “coachi” Sancho explained the philosophy behind the extensions:
“Our focus is on stability, the development of our athletes, and a rigorous training methodology, in which sustainable growth takes precedence over immediate results.”
He added:
“We believe in processes and in the daily improvement of our players.”
The report also noted that doc, gafolo, and rdnzao originally joined Sharks during different periods in 2023. If the contracts are completed in full, each player could spend nearly seven years with the organization.
Sharks’ Strong 2026 Season Continues
The contract extensions come during one of the best periods in Sharks’ recent Counter-Strike history. In 2026, the team has already secured titles at multiple regional and international events while climbing the global CS2 rankings.
Among the team’s recent achievements are victories at CCT tournaments and BetBoom RUSH B! Summit events, along with qualification for Stake Ranked Episode 2.
Sharks are also preparing for additional European competition ahead of Cologne, including appearances at BC.Game Masters Championship Season 2 and Stake Ranked Episode 2.
Sharks Return to the Major Stage
IEM Cologne Major 2026 will be Sharks’ second appearance at a Counter-Strike Major. Their first Major participation came at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where the organization made its debut on the game’s biggest stage.
The upcoming tournament also highlights the continued strength of Brazilian Counter-Strike. Brazil will have six representatives at the event, including FURIA, paiN Gaming, MIBR, Legacy, Gaimin Gladiators, and Sharks.
With their roster secured through 2030, Sharks are positioning themselves as one of the most stable long-term projects in Brazilian CS2 entering the next Major cycle.
