Roman Imperium Cup VII Playoffs Set: G2, HEROIC, SINNERS Lead as BIG Crash Out

Roman Imperium Cup VII reaches playoffs amid Major race pressure

The Roman Imperium Cup VII playoffs are officially set after an intense group stage in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. The LAN event, running from March 28–30, features 19 teams battling not only for the title but also for crucial VRS points ahead of the IEM Cologne Major invite cutoff.

Top teams G2, HEROIC, BESTIA, and SINNERS secured their spots as group winners, while BetBoom, OG, Fluxo, and Acend rounded out the playoff bracket.

Playoff bracket and match schedule

The single-elimination playoffs will kick off on March 30 with the following quarter-final matchups:

SINNERS vs BetBoom

OG vs BESTIA

Fluxo vs G2

HEROIC vs Acend

All matches will be played in a best-of-three format, raising the stakes as teams fight for both the trophy and valuable ranking points.

G2 and HEROIC emerge as favorites

Both G2 and HEROIC dominated their respective groups without dropping a map, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the title.

Despite their clean run, HEROIC come into playoffs with something to prove after a disappointing exit at BC.Game Masters. Coach Tobias “TOBIZ” Theo previously admitted:

“Super disappointing, embarrassing… we should beat these guys 10/10 times.”

G2, on the other hand, continue to show confidence and consistency. Earlier this season, Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko подчеркнул амбиции команды:

“We know that we can be really strong… we want to win this event.”

SINNERS carry momentum after BC.Game Masters victory

One of the most dangerous teams in the bracket is SINNERS, who recently won BC.Game Masters Season 1, defeating BIG in the grand final.

Their in-game leader Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea emphasized the team’s mindset following that victory:

“Just beat everybody, play our game, and just enjoy it.”

This result marked SINNERS’ first international LAN title outside Czechia since 2020 and pushed them closer to securing a Cologne Major invite.

BetBoom survive adversity with stand-ins

BetBoom reaching playoffs is notable given their roster challenges. The team is competing with stand-ins due to visa issues, fielding FL4MUS and zorte instead of their regular lineup.

Despite the disruption, BetBoom managed to advance from a tightly contested group, highlighting their resilience under pressure.

BIG suffer major setback in Cologne Major race

The biggest storyline of the group stage was the early elimination of BIG. Losses to OG and JiJieHao knocked the German side out before playoffs, dealing a serious blow to their chances of receiving an IEM Cologne Major invite.

This comes shortly after their runner-up finish at BC.Game Masters, making the result even more damaging with the April 6 cutoff fast approaching.

What’s at stake: VRS points and Major qualification

With the IEM Cologne Major invite deadline looming, every match in the Roman Imperium Cup VII playoffs carries extra weight. Teams are not just competing for the trophy—they are fighting for ranking points that could determine their place at one of the biggest events of the year.
