Passion UA Unveils New CS2 Lineup Featuring Ex-Complexity Quartet

Ukrainian esports organization Passion UA has confirmed the acquisition of four former Complexity players—Johnny “JT” Theodosiou, Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, Michael “Grim” Wince, and Nick “nicx” Lee—marking a major roster overhaul following Complexity's exit from Counter-Strike.

This move completes an earlier-reported agreement in which Passion UA was in negotiations to bring in the quartet. It also involves replacing Complexity’s previous AWPer, Danny “Cxzi” Strzelczyk, with Ukrainian talent Vladyslav “Kvem” Korol—himself a bench player for Passion UA.

Moreover, this reunion brings back Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen as coach. The South African tactician previously worked with the Complexity core and has been with Passion UA since April.

Background & Context

Complexity's Exit from CS2

Complexity recently announced its departure from Counter‑Strike, citing severe economic pressures. CEO Jason Lake described the situation as "incredibly difficult economically."

Past Reports and Confirmation

Initial reports speculated that Passion UA was in talks with the Complexity players; these have now been officially confirmed by both sides.

Impact for Passion UA

This roster rebuild is the second in six months for Passion UA, following the organization’s earlier decision to drop its existing CS2 roster, centered around Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk.

  • Competitive Implications
Securing these North American players opens the door for Passion UA to participate in the Americas Valve Regional Standings (VRS), potentially securing a seat at the upcoming StarLadder Budapest Major.
