MOUZ Add jL and Promote xelex: HLTV Analysts Debate High-Risk CS2 Roster Move
MOUZ have made one of the boldest roster changes of the 2026 CS2 season, signing Justinas "jL" Lekavicius on loan and promoting academy prospect Adrian "xelex" Vincze to their main lineup. The move, analyzed in HLTV’s Come Here show, has sparked debate about whether this gamble can push MOUZ back into title contention.
MOUZ CS2 Roster Changes Explained
The MOUZ overhaul includes benching Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin and Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo, while shifting Dorian "xertioN" Berman into the in-game leader (IGL) role.
According to head coach Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen, the decision was difficult but necessary:
“This decision is not fair to him on a personal level. But leadership sometimes means accepting that fairness and necessity are not always the same thing.”
The organization also highlighted xelex as a rising star, calling him a “highly talented and hungry player” ready for tier-one Counter-Strike.
jL’s Return to Tier-One CS2
jL’s signing marks a major comeback after stepping away from Natus Vincere in 2025. At the time, he explained his decision:
“I just wanted to live a little.”
Now returning in 2026, jL previously confirmed:
“I should theoretically be back [to playing] in the summer if everything works out.”
His addition brings firepower and experience — including a Major MVP — but also raises questions about role compatibility within MOUZ.
Tactical Concerns: No Natural Anchors?
One of the biggest concerns highlighted by HLTV analysts is the lack of dedicated CT anchors. Players like xelex, jL, and Lotan "Spinx" Giladi prefer aggressive roles, potentially forcing uncomfortable adjustments.
Key challenges include:
xertioN leading full-time as IGL
xelex adapting to tier-one CS2 pressure
jL returning to peak form after a long break
Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás regaining consistency
Why This Move Could Still Work
Despite the risks, MOUZ are betting on long-term upside:
Proven experience from jL
High ceiling of academy talent xelex
System continuity under sycrone
Flexibility in aggressive setups
HLTV’s analysis suggests upcoming events like PGL Astana and CS Asia Championships will be critical testing grounds for this lineup.
What’s Next for MOUZ?
Due to Major roster rules, jL will not play at IEM Cologne, where Brollan temporarily returns. This creates a unique situation where MOUZ will field different versions of their lineup across tournaments.
