Mousquetaires CS2 Team Officially Disbands After Six‑Month Run

The French Counter‑Strike 2 project Mousquetaires has officially been discontinued, bringing an end to its six‑month presence on the European competitive CS2 scene. The organization made the announcement via social media, thanking fans and participants for their support and noting that while the chapter has closed, the experience and connections made will be remembered.

Mousquetaires emerged in late April 2025, initially forming from the core of another French squad, GenOne. That early lineup included notable players such as Audric “JACKZ” Jug and Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom. However, this first iteration lasted less than a month before most of the roster was signed by Turkish organization FUT Esports in May.

Under the FUT banner, the group continued to compete in primarily online and mid‑tier European events. Over the summer and autumn of 2025, the team saw varied results — including a second‑place finish at the United21 League Season 31, where they fell to ESC in the grand final — but consistently struggled to break into higher‑tier competition.

Despite some bright moments, such as finishing second at the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship and placing third in the ESEA Season 55 Europe Elite Cup #2 in December, Mousquetaires never managed to secure a significant foothold in major events or climb the competitive rankings substantially.

As of mid‑December 2025, Mousquetaires were ranked around #120 globally in the HLTV world rankings, a position reflecting modest success relative to the broader competitive landscape.

Roster and Organization History

During its lifespan, the Mousquetaires roster at various points featured:

  • Audric “JACKZ” Jug — the most prominent name on the team and consistent member throughout its existence.

  • Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom — former Vitality and Liquid player, part of the initial core from GenOne.

  • David “devoduvek” Dobrosavljevic — experienced rifler with a long history in the European CS scene.

  • Etienne “drac” Salaün — French CS veteran and solid contributor.

  • Christophe “SIXER” Xia and Julien “Tarkky” Buzogany — completed later roster iterations.

Throughout 2025, the lineup underwent adjustments, particularly after FUT Esports’ acquisition, which also included legendary former aim‑specialist Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom as a sixth player and content creator. While ScreaM did not feature regularly in competition, his inclusion drew attention due to his pedigree in Counter‑Strike and ongoing transition back from VALORANT.

FUT Esports’ Counter‑Strike entry marked a notable expansion for the organization, which previously fielded successful teams in titles such as VALORANT, PUBG Mobile, FIFA, and League of Legends: Wild Rift. The move was intended to blend French and Belgian CS veteran experience with emerging talent — though the partnership ultimately concluded without long‑term success.

Performance and Competitive Context

Over the course of its competitive run, Mousquetaires participated in a variety of European online circuits and qualifiers but failed to secure a spot in any of the major Valve‑sanctioned events — notably missing out on RMR stages that lead to Majors and higher‑tier LAN competitions. Their recorded win rates in these series hovered around the mid‑40% to low‑50% range, and they often exited tournaments in early or middle stages.

Their season performance included:

  • Third place in ESEA Season 55 Europe Elite Cup #2 — one of their most recent results before disbanding.

  • Second place at United21 League Season 31 — a significant runner‑up finish.

  • Appearances in CCT Season 3 Europe Series and other open qualifiers, with mixed results.

Despite these efforts, the team struggled to maintain consistency and climb the competitive ladder. As of their dissolution, they no longer had an active roster or upcoming matches scheduled, and all players were without team affiliation.

Future Prospects for Players

With the organization’s disbandment, members of the former Mousquetaires squad are now free agents. According to earlier updates from JACKZ and other sources, the players were actively exploring options for new teams or individual offers prior to the official announcement of the project’s end.

Given the individuals’ histories — especially veterans like JACKZ, Nivera, and ScreaM — there remains potential for future roles either within other established CS2 organizations or in hybrid content/competitive roles. ScreaM, in particular, hinted at a gradual return to competitive Counter‑Strike when he joined the FUT lineup earlier in 2025, though his precise plans remain dependent on team interest and his own readiness.
