Metizport and AWPer nawwk Part Ways as Contract Expires Ahead of 2026 Season

Metizport have confirmed that Swedish AWPer Tim “nawwk” Jonasson will leave the organization when his short-term deal runs out at the end of December, bringing a very brief partnership to a close and leaving the team’s 2026 lineup wide open.
Short stint that followed a major reshuffle
Nawwk only joined Metizport at the end of October, when the club benched long-time sniper Lucas “L00m1” Haukland and announced a move toward an international roster.
The signing, revealed on October 27, brought in two new names at once: nawwk on a short-term contract running to the end of 2025, and Serbian rifler Nikola “Dragon” Bošković on loan from Partizan, with an option for a permanent buyout if Metizport chose to keep him for 2026.
These moves followed an earlier October statement from the club in which it admitted that results throughout 2025 had not matched expectations. Metizport highlighted inconsistent online form, missed qualifications for events like PGL Astana and IEM Dallas, and internal issues in the lineup as reasons to start over with a fresh direction.
Performance with Metizport
Across roughly six weeks with the team, nawwk posted an average 1.01 HLTV rating, a solid but not spectacular figure for a main AWPer. During that time Metizport:
-
Finished second at Svenska Cupen 2025, losing the grand final to Alliance.
-
Reached the quarter-finals at Red Bull GIBAWAY JOURNEY 2025.
-
Placed 9-12th at Winline Insight Season 9.
-
Attended DreamHack Knockout Stockholm 2025, where they were eliminated in the group stage after a narrow loss to 9INE and a defeat to BASEMENT BOYS in the decider match.
Metizport’s own recap of their “Sweden tour” underlines that the team showed flashes of promise—such as a clean semi-final win over Johnny Speeds at Svenska Cupen—but ultimately fell short of titles and ranking points, particularly at DreamHack Knockout Stockholm where none of the matches contributed to their Valve Regional Standings.
Organization enters a rebuilding phase
In the official announcement quoted by HLTV, Metizport describe the autumn of 2025 as a difficult period in which performance “didn’t meet [their] standards” and refer to both forced adjustments and unforeseen circumstances inside the roster. The club frames nawwk’s departure as part of a broader rebuilding process designed to re-establish the team at a high level and return to the Major circuit in 2026.
Metizport stress that they remain fully committed to competing internationally and that the search for a new AWPer has already started, even though nawwk will technically stay under contract until December 31.
When his contract expires, the active Metizport lineup is expected to consist of: Isak “isak” Fahlén, Jack “Jackinho” Ström Mattsson, Liam “MaiL09” Tügel, and Nikola “Dragon” Bošković (still on loan from Partizan), with Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak as head coach and Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora remaining on the inactive list.
How nawwk arrived at Metizport
Before signing for Metizport, nawwk spent the first half of 2025 with BC.Game, representing the organization at events such as IEM Katowice 2024, the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, and the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. (Those results help explain why he came in with significant tier-one experience despite joining a lower-ranked team.)
HLTV’s report on his Metizport signing notes that he joined as a free agent after leaving BC.Game in June and agreed to only a short-term contract, which made today’s separation a likely scenario once the year came to an end.
Over his career, the 28-year-old Swede has built a reputation as a capable, occasionally high-impact AWPer, with previous stints at organizations such as Apeks, BLEED and Fnatic in the CS2 era, besides his earlier years in CS:GO.
Metizport’s broader context
Metizport themselves have risen from regional contenders to a recognizable European name over the last few years. They played the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 but exited in last place after an 0-3 record in the finals stage, a result that the organization later cited as evidence that the existing lineup had hit a ceiling.
The October 26 restructuring announcement made clear that the club viewed 2025 as a mixed year: they did secure a Major appearance and recorded some strong online finishes, but also missed out on several key LAN qualifications and struggled to find consistency. That statement also confirmed the earlier departures of in-game leader Hampus “hampus” Poser and rifler Adam “adamb” Ångström, making the later arrival and now departure of nawwk one part of a longer overhaul rather than an isolated decision.
What comes next
As of the latest reports, neither Metizport nor nawwk have announced a future destination for the player once his contract officially ends, and there are no confirmed roster additions to replace him. HLTV’s transfer listings and player profile list him as remaining under contract with Metizport until December 31, 2025, with his status to be updated after that point.
Given Metizport’s stated ambition to “once again become part of the Major cycle in 2026,” the organization is expected to continue searching for a long-term sniper and possibly more changes around its current Swedish-Serbian core. For now, the nawwk chapter in Metizport is closing after barely more than a month, leaving both sides looking ahead to a new start in the coming season.
