Lynn Vision Secure Esports World Cup 2026 Spot After Hero Esports ACL Triumph
Chinese team Lynn Vision secured qualification for the Esports World Cup 2026 after winning the Hero Esports Asian Champions League, becoming one of the first Asian representatives confirmed for the $2 million tournament in Riyadh.
The Chinese squad earned the regional slot by defeating JiJieHao in the grand final of the Hero Esports ACL event held in Shanghai. Alongside direct qualification to the Esports World Cup, Lynn Vision also collected $80,000 in prize money for their victory.
Hero Esports Asian Champions League served as the only direct Asian regional qualifier for the Esports World Cup, which will feature 32 teams and an expanded format in 2026. Tournament organizer ESL previously confirmed that the event will include a large-scale open LAN qualifier with 128 teams competing for additional spots ahead of the main tournament.
The qualification continues a strong 2026 campaign for Lynn Vision, who have steadily re-established themselves as one of the top teams in the Asian Counter-Strike scene. Earlier this year, the team also qualified for CS Asia Championships 2026 after advancing through the Asia Closed Qualifier alongside TYLOO.
Lynn Vision’s current lineup features veteran core players including Westmelon and z4KR, alongside Starry, EmiliaQAQ, and C4LLM3SU3. The roster has remained relatively stable throughout the past year and previously climbed as high as No. 17 in the world rankings.
Their ACL run included a hard-fought three-map victory over Australian side THUNDER dOWNUNDER before eventually securing the championship and the coveted EWC berth.
The result also represents another positive moment for Chinese Counter-Strike after several turbulent months in the regional ecosystem. Lynn Vision were previously involved in discussions surrounding Asia’s Valve Regional Standings system after controversy during qualifiers earlier this year, but the team has since shifted the focus back onto server results with consistent performances at international and regional events.
The Esports World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place in Riyadh later this year, with 32 teams competing for a $2 million prize pool. Several direct invites and qualification spots are still yet to be determined, while the open LAN qualifier in August will offer additional opportunities for teams from around the world to join the competition.
