LNZ: “I’m respected here” — MIBR’s new IGL embraces fresh start after HEROIC exit
LNZ finds confidence and authority in MIBR rebuild
MIBR’s new in-game leader Linus 'LNZ' Holtäng says his transition to the Brazilian organization has already delivered something he lacked before — trust and recognition.
Speaking to HLTV, the Swedish IGL highlighted a major difference between his current environment and his previous stint in HEROIC:
“I’m respected here, people value me and my opinions. I didn’t really have that in the same way as I do now.”
The move marks a crucial turning point in LNZ’s career after a difficult end to 2025, positioning him not only as a player but as the central voice in MIBR’s evolving international project.
From HEROIC bench to leading MIBR’s international era
LNZ joined MIBR in January 2026 alongside Carlos 'venomzera' Eduardo, taking over full in-game leadership responsibilities.
The transfer followed his benching from HEROIC in late 2025, a period he described bluntly:
“It’s been a very tough year.”
Despite the setback, LNZ maintained that his motivation never faded, emphasizing his ongoing “drive to prove” himself at the top level.
His arrival is part of MIBR’s broader shift away from a purely Brazilian identity toward a mixed international lineup — a process that began with the signing of Klimentii 'kl1m' Krivosheev from G2 Academy.
Early success: trophies and momentum for new MIBR roster
The rebuild has already produced tangible results.
MIBR secured its first title with the new lineup at BetBoom Circuit X Redemption Curitiba, followed by additional regional victories and a strong domestic run. The team entered the international stage on the back of a 19-match winning streak in South America, signaling growing stability under LNZ’s leadership.
Their opportunity to compete at PGL Bucharest 2026 came after paiN Gaming withdrew, allowing MIBR to step in.
At the event, the team showed mixed but promising form:
Loss vs Astralis
Wins vs BC.Game and Legacy
Overall 2–1 start in group stage
Adapting to international play and European competition
LNZ noted key differences between regional and international competition, especially between South America and Europe.
According to him, the Brazilian scene is highly volatile:
“You can lose to anyone.”
By contrast, European teams offer more structure, though MIBR still lacks experience at that level — something the team is actively working to improve.
Communication has also been a challenge due to the international roster, but LNZ confirmed steady progress in English and overall coordination.
Team chemistry: venomzera’s passion and kl1m’s raw skill
A major positive for LNZ has been team atmosphere and emotional energy.
He specifically praised venomzera’s intensity:
He enjoys playing with teammates who bring visible passion and energy into the server.
LNZ also highlighted kl1m as one of the most mechanically gifted players he has worked with:
“He has insane mechanics.”
However, he stressed that the young AWPer is still developing and needs more tier-one experience to fully unlock his potential and consistency.
MIBR’s goals: Major qualification and top 20 breakthrough
Looking ahead, LNZ outlined realistic but ambitious goals for the roster.
The team has already achieved its first milestone:
Qualified for the Major (“barely, but we did it”)
Next objectives include:
Consistent participation in European events
Breaking into the HLTV top 20
Becoming a team capable of upsets against tier-one opponents
Rather than chasing immediate trophies, MIBR is focused on long-term growth and establishing itself as a stable international contender.
Why LNZ’s move to MIBR matters
LNZ’s transfer is more than just a roster change — it reflects a broader shift in Counter-Strike’s global landscape:
MIBR continues its transition into an international CS2 project
LNZ gets a rare second chance as IGL after HEROIC
The team blends Brazilian aggression with European structure
If the trajectory continues, MIBR could emerge as one of the most interesting breakout teams of 2026.
