Legacy sweep NAVI to secure ESL Pro League Season 23 playoffs spot

Legacy sweep NAVI to secure ESL Pro League Season 23 playoffs spot

Brazilian side Legacy secured a playoff spot at ESL Pro League Season 23 after delivering a convincing 2–0 victory over Natus Vincere in the Stage 2 Swiss group. The win pushed the team to a 3–1 record, guaranteeing their place in the LAN finals and marking one of the most notable results of their current campaign.

The series was played as a best-of-three in the 2-1 pool, meaning the winner would immediately advance to the playoff stage while the losing side would have one more opportunity to qualify later in the bracket. Legacy handled the pressure confidently, closing out the match in two maps — Dust2 and Mirage — and preventing NAVI from forcing a decider.

Dominant performance against NAVI

Legacy opened the series strongly on Dust2, where they set the tone early and controlled the pace of the game. The Brazilian squad built a significant lead in the first half and never allowed NAVI to regain momentum, ultimately securing a 13–4 victory. The map showcased Legacy’s aggressive mid-round calling and confident individual play, which kept the European side on the back foot throughout the game.

The second map, Mirage, proved more competitive. NAVI managed to keep the score close and attempted to push the series to a third map, but Legacy remained composed in the late rounds. Their ability to convert crucial situations and maintain discipline on the defensive side allowed them to close Mirage 13–10, completing the sweep and sealing qualification to the playoffs.

Continued momentum in EPL Season 23

Legacy’s victory over NAVI continues an impressive run in ESL Pro League Season 23. Earlier in the tournament, the Brazilian roster also secured important wins, including a 2–0 victory against Monte during Stage 2, which helped them reach the decisive 2-1 pool in the Swiss format.

The team had already shown strong form earlier in the competition as well. During Stage 1, Legacy impressed with victories over several opponents, including a notable 2–0 upset against G2, demonstrating that the roster could compete with some of the biggest names in the scene.

Stage 1 of the event featured 16 teams competing for eight spots in the next stage, where only the best squads advanced further in the competition. Legacy successfully navigated this phase and carried their momentum into Stage 2, where the stakes were even higher as teams fought for playoff qualification.

New lineup finding success

One of the most interesting aspects of Legacy’s run is that the roster is still relatively fresh. The team recently integrated arT into the lineup and is currently built around players such as dumau, latto, n1ssim, and saadzin. Despite the roster changes, the squad has quickly developed strong chemistry and shown the ability to compete with top-tier opposition.

The match against NAVI highlighted the roster’s potential, particularly through impactful individual performances that helped secure key rounds in both maps. The victory also represents one of Legacy’s most significant results to date, considering NAVI’s long-standing reputation as one of the most successful organizations in Counter-Strike.

What the result means for both teams

By defeating NAVI and reaching the playoffs, Legacy has guaranteed itself a place among the final contenders of ESL Pro League Season 23. For the Brazilian side, this marks a major milestone and reinforces the idea that the team could become a serious challenger on the international stage.

Meanwhile, NAVI’s loss does not immediately end their campaign. Because the match took place in the Swiss system’s 2-1 bracket, the team will still have another opportunity to secure a playoff berth through a final qualification match.

A breakthrough moment for Legacy

Legacy’s run at ESL Pro League Season 23 has already turned heads within the Counter-Strike scene. With victories over respected opponents and a playoff berth secured, the team has demonstrated that it can compete at the highest level.

If the Brazilian squad can maintain the same level of discipline, teamwork, and individual firepower that carried them past NAVI, they could become one of the tournament’s most dangerous dark horses when the playoffs begin.
