Johnny Speeds Finalise Roster With Signing of Swedish AWPer nawwk After draken Steps Back

Johnny Speeds Confirm New Lineup with nawwk Signing

Johnny Speeds have officially solidified their active Counter-Strike 2 roster by signing Swedish AWPer Tim “nawwk” Jonasson to replace organization founder William “draken” Sundin, who is stepping back from competitive play for the time being.

The move was confirmed in the latest transfer update, with nawwk transferring from Swedish side megoshort to Johnny Speeds. At the same time, draken has been moved to the bench, marking a significant change for the team’s core unit.

About Tim “nawwk” Jonasson

nawwk is a 28-year-old AWPer from Sweden with extensive experience on the tier-2 scene. Prior to joining Johnny Speeds, he had a short stint with Metizport late last year before featuring in events with megoshort, including a 4th place finish at PLAYR Masters Season 1 LAN in Malmö. His role with Johnny Speeds will mark his first notable placement in a roster aiming for wider international competition in early 2026.

Updated Johnny Speeds Lineup

Following the move, Johnny Speeds’ active roster now consists of five Swedish players and coach Adam “friberg” Friberg:

  • Anton “Sapec” Palmgren – rifler

  • Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson – rifler

  • Ludvig “HEAP” Alonso – rifler

  • Jacob “jocab” Nerheden – rifler

  • Tim “nawwk” Jonasson – AWPer

  • Adam “friberg” Friberg – coach

This marks a full active lineup after several months of roster adjustments, including the addition of young rifler jocab last November.

Context: draken and Team Strategy Going Forward

draken, a long-standing figure in the Johnny Speeds organisation, announced his intention to step back from competition ahead of this signing. His move to the bench indicates a strategic shift for the team as they build around a mix of established names and rising talent.

Competitive Outlook

Johnny Speeds, currently ranked around #62 in the global Valve Regional Standings, are preparing to compete in several upcoming online competitions:

  • European Pro League Series 5 (Playoffs)

  • CCT Season 3 Europe Series 17 (Group Stage) — starting March 1, 2026

These events represent key opportunities for the newly finalised roster to prove its cohesion on bigger stages and climb the competitive rankings.
