Additional Context from Previous Editions
IEM Chengdu 2024: The prior edition ran from April 8 to 14, 2024, featured Counter‑Strike 2, offered a $250,000 prize pool, and was also an S‑Tier event. FaZe Clan captured the championship.
Broky, FaZe’s AWPer, was named MVP at IEM Chengdu 2024 — a testament to his elite form.
Astralis’s Roster Changes: Ahead of Chengdu 2024, dev1ce took over as in‑game leader with br0 joining, and R0nic stepped down as coach, replaced by ruggah — changes that shaped their performance at that time.
Summary
ESL has confirmed that IEM Chengdu 2025 will showcase 16 top-tier CS2 teams, featuring a mix of globally dominant squads (Vitality, FaZe, G2) and regional rising stars (The MongolZ, paiN, Lynn Vision). The event promises competitive group play, followed by knockout rounds, all vying for a substantial $1M prize pool. Compared to its 2024 edition, this year’s tournament represents a notable escalation in stakes and prestige.
