HexT Says Cxzi Fixed What Wildcard Were Missing After BC Game Masters 2026 Victory
Wildcard’s latest roster move is already paying off. Following the addition of Danny “Cxzi” Strzelczyk, the North American-European Counter-Strike 2 squad secured victory at BC Game Masters Championship Season 2, defeating FOKUS 2-1 in the grand final and taking home $30,000.
After the tournament, Jadan “HexT” Postma explained why Cxzi’s arrival has quickly improved the team dynamic, saying the former Passion UA player brought qualities the roster previously lacked.
According to HexT, Wildcard now have more confidence, structure, and experience heading into upcoming tier-one CS2 events.
HexT Praises Cxzi After Wildcard CS2 Roster Change
In an interview with HLTV.org, HexT discussed the impact Cxzi has had since replacing Jaxon “Peeping” Cornwell in April.
“I think Dani brings some things that Jaxon was lacking,” HexT said. He clarified that the comment was “nothing against” Peeping, pointing out that the former Wildcard rifler is still young and developing as a player.
HexT emphasized that Cxzi’s previous experience competing with Passion UA helped Wildcard create a stronger environment internally.
“He’s definitely more experienced and he brings a different environment to the team. I think we have more confidence now,” HexT explained.
The change followed Wildcard’s disappointing run at PGL Bucharest 2026, where Peeping struggled individually and the team failed to convert several close matches against stronger opponents.
Wildcard Win BC Game Masters Championship Season 2
Wildcard’s first event victory with Cxzi came at BC Game Masters Championship Season 2 in Portugal.
The team defeated FOKUS in the grand final after wins over multiple European opponents during the tournament. HexT was the highest-rated player in the final with a 1.37 rating, continuing his strong form throughout the event.
The tournament victory also significantly improved Wildcard’s standing in Valve’s Regional Standings system. According to HLTV, the team gained 75 VRS points and climbed from 35th to 27th in the rankings.
The result keeps Wildcard in contention for invitations to larger international Counter-Strike 2 tournaments later this season.
Cxzi’s Journey From Marsborne to Wildcard
Before joining Wildcard, Cxzi competed for Passion UA and later Marsborne.
However, Marsborne placed several players on the bench during a major roster overhaul after the team failed to qualify for IEM Cologne-related events. Wildcard moved quickly to secure Cxzi shortly afterward.
The organization officially benched Peeping on April 14 before announcing Cxzi as his replacement one day later.
The move immediately attracted attention within the North American CS2 scene, especially because Wildcard had already shown potential earlier in the year despite inconsistent results.
nEMANHA Continues to Shape Wildcard’s Identity
HexT also praised in-game leader Nemanja “nEMANHA” Đukić, who has become a key part of Wildcard’s rebuild.
According to HexT, nEMANHA encourages aggressive decision-making and gives players freedom to make plays during rounds.
“He brings a lot of passion to the team, and I think that the way he calls is magical,” HexT said.
Earlier this year, nEMANHA told HLTV that joining Wildcard was an important step for his career because he wanted to consistently attend S-tier CS2 tournaments and qualify for future Majors.
Wildcard Focused on International CS2 Success
Despite the recent title win, HexT dismissed discussions about Wildcard becoming the best North American Counter-Strike team.
“There’s like three teams in North America, so being number one doesn’t really mean anything,” he said.
Instead, Wildcard are focused on improving internationally and proving themselves against elite competition.
The team is expected to attend several higher-level tournaments in the coming months, where fans will get a better idea of whether the new-look roster can compete consistently against top-tier CS2 opposition.
