GamerLegion Knock Out Astralis at IEM Atlanta 2026 as Legacy Shock NAVI to Reach Semi-finals

GamerLegion secured the final playoff spot at IEM Atlanta 2026 after eliminating Astralis, while Legacy stunned Natus Vincere to advance directly to the semi-finals.

The decisive Group B matches completed the playoff bracket and delivered two of the tournament’s biggest storylines so far.

GamerLegion eliminate Astralis to secure IEM Atlanta playoffs

GamerLegion continued their impressive lower-bracket run with a dominant 2-0 victory over Astralis. The European squad opened the series with a crushing 13-3 win on Mirage before closing out Ancient 13-8.

Oldřich “PR” Nový was one of the key performers in the series, finishing with a 1.75 rating, while Milan “hypex” Polowiec delivered one of the tournament’s standout moments with a critical 1v4 AWP clutch on Ancient. The clutch shifted momentum firmly in GamerLegion’s favor and effectively ended Astralis’ hopes of a comeback.

The result followed GamerLegion’s earlier elimination victory over Team Liquid, where they won 2-0 behind another strong team performance. GamerLegion defeated Liquid 13-9 on Mirage and 13-6 on Nuke to stay alive in the tournament.

Earlier in the event, GamerLegion player Isak “REZ” Dahlström spoke about the team’s growing confidence and development:

“We’re here to play and we can beat these teams.”

REZ also emphasized how valuable deep tournament runs are for the younger players on the roster as the team continues building long-term chemistry.

Legacy upset NAVI to claim semi-final spot

Legacy produced the biggest upset of the group stage by defeating NAVI 2-1 and finishing first in Group B. The Brazilian team edged Inferno 13-11, lost Ancient 8-13, and then dominated Dust2 13-6 to close the series.

Bruno “latto” Rebelatto delivered a huge performance on Dust2, while Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer sealed the win with a late ace.

Legacy’s strong Atlanta campaign also included a previous 2-0 victory over Astralis, further proving that the Brazilian squad is becoming one of the tournament’s breakout teams.

The addition of veteran in-game leader Andrei “arT” Piovezan has already made a visible impact on the roster. Legacy player Guilherme “saadzin” Pacheco recently explained how arT improved both the tactical side and team atmosphere:

“He helps us both in the server and outside of it.”

Saadzin added that the squad now trusts each other more and feels increasingly comfortable in high-pressure matches.

NAVI set for dangerous Vitality quarter-final

The loss against Legacy dramatically changed NAVI’s playoff path. Instead of advancing directly to the semi-finals, NAVI now faces a difficult quarter-final matchup against Team Vitality.

Before the match against Legacy, NAVI rifler Mihai “iM” Ivan said the team’s biggest issue was internal consistency rather than any specific opponent:

“I think the biggest opponent for us is us — not Astralis, not Legacy, not even Vitality.”

That statement now carries even more weight after NAVI’s disappointing group-stage finish.

IEM Atlanta 2026 playoff bracket finalized

Following the conclusion of Group B, the IEM Atlanta playoff matchups are officially set:

GamerLegion vs paiN Gaming — Quarter-final

NAVI vs Vitality — Quarter-final

BetBoom Team — Semi-finalist

Legacy — Semi-finalist

With Legacy emerging as the surprise package of the event and GamerLegion gaining momentum at the perfect time, the IEM Atlanta playoffs are shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable stages of the 2026 Counter-Strike season.
