fnatic exit Bucharest after 0-2 loss to GamerLegion

The fnatic have been eliminated from PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 after a straight-set defeat (13-11 on Train, 13-7 on Overpass) against GamerLegion.
GamerLegion’s victory sends them into the 2-2 pool of the Swiss stage, while fnatic are out of the tournament.

Under-pressure fnatic

Fnatic arrived in Bucharest under scrutiny after a series of poor performances. They had already dropped matches to Aurora and FlyQuest earlier in the Swiss stage.
Their roster shuffle – notably the benching of Cai “CYPHER” Watson and return of Nikita “jackasmo” Skyba – was meant to signal a fresh start, but the results didn’t follow.
In their match versus GamerLegion, fnatic’s two newer members, Skyba and Rodion “fear” Smyk, struggled heavily — Skyba recorded a rating of 0.78, while fear posted a measly 0.32 on Train.
Veteran Benjamin “blameF” Bremer was the sole bright spot, ending the tournament with an impressive 1.42 rating overall — though even he came up quiet in this deciding match with an ADR of just 66.
Despite a win over MIBR (2-0) on the previous day which kept them alive for a moment, the trajectory had already shifted downward.

GamerLegion rise, Tauson shines

GamerLegion move on after a composed performance, led by the Dane Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof, who posted a 1.53 rating in the match.
Tauson has emerged as one of the few positive stories for GL this season, stepping up from a role with a 0.99 rating earlier in the year.
With the win, GL continue into the 2-2 bracket and remain in contention to reach the playoff stage.

What it means

For fnatic, this marks a difficult end to their run in Bucharest — the team now faces questions about their roster decision and whether the recent changes have addressed the underlying issues. One Reddit post put it bluntly:

“Great synergy between KRiMZ and jackasmo, CYPHER died for this btw.”
Meanwhile, GamerLegion’s progression injects momentum into their campaign and gives them a clearer path toward the playoff phase.
