FL4MUS Says He Wants to Prove Himself Before Next CS2 Transfer Window After BetBoom’s Vitality Upset

Timur “FL4MUS” Marev says he is focused on proving his individual level before the next CS2 transfer window after helping BetBoom secure one of the biggest upsets of IEM Atlanta 2026.

The Russian rifler, currently on loan from Virtus.pro, played a key role in BetBoom’s 2-1 victory over Vitality — the world’s top-ranked CS2 team — as the squad advanced to the tournament playoffs. The result marked FL4MUS’ first career win against Vitality and further boosted his reputation during a critical period for his future.

Speaking to HLTV after the match, FL4MUS admitted that his current goal extends beyond short-term results.

“I’m just trying to show individually before the next transfer [period], just to show that I’m individually good, that I want to play, and that I can play.”

The 21-year-old joined BetBoom temporarily after Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov encountered ongoing visa issues ahead of IEM Atlanta. However, what initially looked like an emergency stand-in move has quickly become one of the most important opportunities of FL4MUS’ career.

BetBoom Shock Vitality at IEM Atlanta 2026

BetBoom entered the event as heavy underdogs but managed to eliminate Vitality in a tense three-map series. After losing Mirage, BetBoom responded on Anubis before dominating the first half of Nuke 10-2.

FL4MUS explained that the team remained calm throughout the decider despite remembering Vitality’s comeback against NAVI earlier in the tournament.

“If we lose, they’re Vitality. If we win, everything’s gonna be great.”

The victory secured BetBoom a playoff spot at IEM Atlanta 2026 and potentially gave FL4MUS his first real arena experience at a top-tier international CS2 event.

FL4MUS Playing Outside His Natural Roles

One of the most notable parts of FL4MUS’ recent performances is that he is not playing his preferred positions inside BetBoom’s system.

The rifler revealed he has been filling difficult anchor roles to help stabilize the roster during the organization’s ongoing lineup instability. Despite the uncomfortable positions, he has consistently delivered strong individual performances throughout the team’s recent LAN run.

Earlier during BetBoom’s Major qualification campaign, FL4MUS described the temporary move as “a big chance” to prove he can adapt and play multiple roles at the highest level.

That versatility may become extremely valuable once the next CS2 roster shuffle begins following the Major cycle.

BetBoom’s CS2 Roster Situation Remains Unclear

BetBoom’s lineup remains uncertain heading into the IEM Cologne Major due to continued visa complications.

The organization previously confirmed the return of d1Ledez while also keeping Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko in the active lineup after benching Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov. At the same time, discussions reportedly continued regarding FL4MUS’ temporary stay with the roster.

BetBoom CEO Artem “Pioneer” Saveliev also stated that the final Cologne Major lineup would depend entirely on visa approvals.

FL4MUS confirmed the situation himself:

“I’m a substitute for the Major. If someone will not get a visa, I will fly. If everyone gets a visa, I will not.”

BetBoom’s Unexpected Rise During the CS2 Major Race

BetBoom have quietly become one of the biggest surprise teams of the current CS2 season.

Despite constant travel, roster instability, and visa issues, the team managed deep runs at several events, including a title at Roman Imperium Cup VII and a strong placement at BC.Game Masters.

Team captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov previously admitted the squad faced an exhausting schedule during the VRS race.

“We had nine flights in two weeks.”

Still, BetBoom continued collecting important ranking points and eventually carried that momentum into IEM Atlanta, where the team achieved its biggest victory of the year against Vitality.

FL4MUS Strengthens His Value Ahead of CS2 Roster Changes

With the next CS2 transfer window approaching after the Major season, FL4MUS has positioned himself as one of the more intriguing names on the market.

Even if his BetBoom spell ends after Atlanta or Cologne, the loan period has already demonstrated his flexibility, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure against elite opposition.

After finally defeating Vitality and reaching a major playoff stage, FL4MUS may have done exactly what he wanted: prove he belongs at the top level of Counter-Strike.
