FaZe Knocked Out as CAC Advances to Playoffs

FaZe’s campaign at the CS Asia Championships (CAC) 2025 came to an end today after a decisive defeat that sealed their elimination, while other teams clinched playoff berths.

A Sudden Exit for FaZe

Despite a strong showing at ESL Pro League Season 22 earlier this month, FaZe could not carry that momentum into CAC.The team opened the event with a narrow loss to FUT (11-13 on Mirage), immediately putting pressure on themselves.

In their final match, FaZe faced FUT again, this time in a best-of-three format. FUT secured a 2–1 victory to knock FaZe out of the tournament. The win also advanced FUT into the playoff stage.

This marks FaZe’s first exit from a CAC event, and it comes in a tournament without Håvard “rain” Nygaard, who departed the roster prior to the event. The timing is especially disappointing given FaZe’s recent success—top-four finish at EPL and squeaking into the EPL playoffs by the skin of their teeth.

With FaZe out, other teams stepped up to fill the vacated playoff slots. fnatic and HEROIC both secured their paths into the knockout stage, having performed strongly in the group phase. Their advancement adds further intrigue to the playoff bracket.

FUT—formerly known as NAVI Junior—also earned their playoff berth by defeating FaZe 2–1. Team captain Krabeni remarked, “I think we deserve this LAN arena,” underscoring how meaningful their upset was.

Looking Ahead

FaZe’s early exit at CAC is a setback, but they entered the event without rain and after an intensive EPL run. Meanwhile, the CAC playoffs promise interesting matchups with fnatic, HEROIC, FUT, and others poised to battle onward.
