FaZe have booked their place in the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 semifinals after a convincing 2-0 victory over MOUZ in the quarterfinals. The European powerhouse claimed Nuke 13-11 and Inferno 13-2 to become the third team to reach the final four in Hungary. 

Early Struggles Turned Into Momentum

FaZe’s tournament had been far from smooth. After a shaky start that nearly saw them eliminated in Stage 1, the team rallied through the brackets and now sit just two wins away from a Major title. Their quarterfinal win extends a notable resurgence in form. 

Map One — Nuke: Tight but Decisive

On Nuke, FaZe took control early on offense, building a strong lead and setting the tone for the series. Despite a late rally from MOUZ — who at one point flipped a 3-9 deficit to 11-9 — FaZe held firm in the final rounds to secure the map 13-11. 

Map Two — Inferno: Complete Dominance

Inferno saw MOUZ collapse almost entirely, managing only two rounds. FaZe’s offense crippled their opponents’ retake attempts, culminating in a lopsided 13-2 victory that sent FaZe confidently into the semifinals.

The story of the match was Helvijs “broky” Saukants. Once criticized for inconsistent form earlier in the Major, broky delivered the highest individual rating of the series (1.62) and topped the scoreboard with 40 kills across both maps. His impact was especially felt on Inferno, where his aggressive AWP play and clutch frags helped tilt key rounds in FaZe’s favour. 

Other FaZe standouts included David “frozen” Čerňanský and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who supported heavily in kills and maintained strong map control throughout both maps. 

What’s Next? Semifinals Await

With this win, FaZe await the winner of the FURIA vs. NAVI quarterfinal clash to determine their semifinal opponent. A victory there would put FaZe one match from the Major grand final and a shot at the trophy itself.
