Falcons Lead the Invite List for FISSURE Playground 2

FISSURE has revealed the first six teams officially invited to FISSURE Playground 2, a major LAN event scheduled to take place from September 12 to 21, 2025, at the Belgrade Arena in Serbia. Boasting a total prize pool of $1.25 million—split into $500,000 for players and $750,000 for organizations—this event significantly outpaces its predecessor in scale.

Six Invited Teams So Far

The organizations that have accepted invitations are:

  • Falcons

  • Aurora

  • Virtus.pro

  • FURIA

  • G2

  • Astralis
At least six of the top 13 teams in the July 7 Valve Regional Standings (VRS) rankings are represented among the invitees.

The inclusion of Falcons is particularly noteworthy, as they enter the competition as VRS rank #5 as of July 7.

Why Falcons Chose FISSURE Playground 2 Over BLAST Events

Falcons had previously declined invites to BLAST Bounty Season 2—a decision confirmed by the team's manager, Xavier Roussac. The reason? Concerns over visa issues for kyousuke, who is 17 and has limited travel history, and a strategic focus on events offering greater regional standings gains. Roussac noted that FISSURE Playground 2 not only avoids scheduling conflicts with BLAST's online-heavy structure but also delivers a more substantial impact on VRS, thanks to its fully LAN format and larger prize pool.

What Lies Ahead

With six more invite slots open before the group stage begins, anticipation is high. The Swiss-style group stage and best-of-three match format set the competitive stage for an electrifying showdown.
