F_1N on Team Spirit’s Results Without Hally: “I Don’t Think the Coaching Change Had a Huge Impact”

Former CS2 coach Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov believes Team Spirit’s strong performances during Sergey “hally” Shavaev’s absence should not be viewed as proof that the team improved because of a coaching replacement.

Speaking about Spirit’s recent form, F_1N said the roster likely would have achieved similar results even if hally had remained with the squad. According to him, the temporary change mainly helped refresh the atmosphere around the team rather than completely transform its gameplay.

F_1N Explains Spirit’s Success During Hally’s Absence

Hally stepped away from Team Spirit earlier in 2026 because of health and burnout-related issues. During that stretch, Dmitry “S0tF1k” Forostyanko joined the team as a stand-in coach for major events, including IEM Rio 2026 and PGL Astana 2026.

F_1N also pointed to the enormous expectations surrounding Team Spirit because of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, widely considered one of the best CS2 players in the world.

In earlier comments, the temporary coach stated that Spirit’s system was already fully developed under hally and that there was neither enough time nor reason to rebuild it during his short stint with the roster.

“The system is already built. This is hally’s team,” S0tF1k said previously.

Instead, S0tF1k explained that his focus was on helping the players maintain strong form, motivation, and confidence during important tournaments.

In a separate HLTV interview, he also revealed that he introduced only smaller adjustments rather than a complete overhaul of Spirit’s playbook.
