After an opening loss to fnatic on Overpass, paiN managed to rebound in the lower bracket of the CS Asia Championships 2025, eliminating Fluxo to keep their campaign alive in Group B.

Shortly after that victory over Fluxo, paiN’s in-game leader Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt spoke to HLTV about their struggles, schedule, and ambitions.

When asked why the first two maps of the series were difficult, biguzera admitted that Ancient proved challenging in certain rounds, and on Nuke they suffered “first kills that we cannot have.”
He also acknowledged that over the past month, the team hadn’t practiced Overpass heavily (despite feeling comfortable with the map), citing travel and time changes disrupting their preparation.

Looking ahead, paiN face a grueling event calendar: Bucharest, Chengdu, Rivals, and then the Major. biguzera conceded they would have to juggle tournament play with practice, reasoning that “tournaments come with experience, mistakes, and things to fix.”

Regarding how far they could go in CS Asia, he stated:

“I think we can win any tournament that we can play; we just have to focus, play the best CS that we can, and I’m pretty sure that we can beat any team.”

Context & Recent History

In previous interviews, biguzera has emphasized mindset and consistency as key for paiN’s success. In September 2025, he noted that after a period without tournaments, confidence dipped — and that maintaining a unified approach across all players is essential.

Earlier in the year, biguzera also discussed roster changes. He admitted that benching kauez was because “kauez wasn’t the role that we needed,” and that the insertion of dgt came with challenges, especially due to limited practice time.

In the BLAST Austin Major, paiN had a standout run. biguzera called his team’s advance into the playoffs “a dream,” and expressed pride in representing not just Brazil but all of South America.
