German Counter-Strike 2 organisation BIG have officially announced the signing of Danish veteran Benjamin “blameF” Bremer from fnatic, as well as the addition of Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch to their coaching staff. The move signals a significant restructuring of BIG’s CS2 roster ahead of the 2026 competitive season, with expectations that the changes will reinvigorate the team after a challenging 2025 period.

At 28 years old, blameF arrives in Berlin as BIG’s new in-game leader (IGL) — a role he last held at legendary organisation Astralis earlier in his career. BIG’s Chief Gaming Officer, Roman Reinhardt, emphasised the importance of blameF’s leadership qualities in the signing announcement, saying that while the Dane has long been an elite individual player, it was their shared vision of how modern Counter-Strike should be played that ultimately drove the decision.

“Benjamin has been at an absolute top level individually for a long time, but what mattered even more to me were our conversations… He has a clear vision of how Counter-Strike needs to be played, how a team must function, and what responsibility an IGL has to carry.” — Roman Reinhardt, BIG CGO.

blameF takes over the IGL duties from Lukas “FreeZe” Hegmann, who had stepped into the role in October following the departure of long-time captain Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz. However, FreeZe’s tenure as in-game leader lasted only around three months before the organisation moved in a different direction, evidently seeking a more experienced and strategically oriented leader.

Alongside the roster change, BIG also announced the signing of Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch as assistant coach, adding further experienced leadership to the team’s support staff. The German coach brings years of experience and is expected to be a key figure in helping integrate blameF’s tactical approach into the squad’s preparations.

blameF’s Career and Recent Departure from fnatic

Benjamin Bremer, widely known by his alias blameF, has been a prominent figure in the Counter-Strike scene since his professional debut in 2017, with historic stints in organisations such as Heroic and Astralis before joining fnatic in May 2024. According to multiple sources, fnatic recently announced his departure, replacing him with rifler Pavle “Maden” Bošković, as part of their own strategic shift and roster overhaul.

During his 18-month stay with fnatic, blameF was statistically one of the organisation’s best performers — averaging a high 1.21 rating and playing a key role in helping the team qualify for both the Shanghai and Budapest Majors. Despite these individual achievements, fnatic’s overall results were mixed, and the team elected to embrace a different style of play with the signing of Maden.

According to his published competitive history, blameF has consistently been a top contributor in team results across multiple organisations, and his leadership reputation was forged during his time at Astralis, where he served as IGL and helped guide tactical approaches at major tournaments.

BIG’s Current Roster Context and Goals

With blameF now aboard, BIG’s active CS2 roster for 2026 also includes:

  • Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz

  • Jon “JDC” de Castro

  • Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin

  • [Coach] Sebastian “xenn” Hoch

  • [Assistant Coach] Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch

The signing of blameF makes him only the second non-German player in the team after gr1ks — marking a more international direction for BIG’s lineup composition. The organisation has struggled for consistent top-tier results in recent seasons, and the acquisition of a seasoned IGL like blameF underscores a renewed commitment to elite competition at premier events.

Debut and Future Tournaments

BIG’s debut with blameF at the helm is anticipated at the CCT Season 3 Europe Series 13, which is scheduled to begin on January 18, 2026. This early test will be a key indicator of how quickly the newly assembled roster can coalesce under its revised leadership and tactical philosophy.

While fans and analysts have offered varied opinions on the potential impact of the signing — with some speculating on how blameF’s presence could impact BIG’s rankings — the organisation’s leadership appears confident that his experience and strategic mindset can drive future success.
