BetBoom forced into roster changes as visa issues disrupt crucial LAN campaign
BetBoom are once again dealing with significant roster instability ahead of a critical stretch of LAN events, as visa complications have ruled two core players out of upcoming tournaments. The organization confirmed that Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov and Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov will be unable to attend a series of events across Europe, forcing the team to rely on stand-ins during a pivotal moment of the season.
To fill the gaps, BetBoom have brought in Timur “FL4MUS” Marev and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko. While FL4MUS joins on loan following his benching from OG, zorte returns to a familiar environment, having previously been part of the BetBoom lineup before being sidelined in mid-2025.
The timing of these changes is particularly unfortunate. BetBoom are preparing to compete in three consecutive LAN tournaments in Romania, Portugal, and Spain, beginning with the BC.Game Masters Championship in Bucharest. These events are not only important individually but also form a crucial opportunity for the team to improve their standing ahead of the April 6 VRS cutoff for invitations to the IEM Cologne Major.
Currently sitting outside the projected qualification range in Europe, BetBoom are under pressure to deliver strong results during this stretch. However, doing so without two of their regular starters significantly complicates their chances. The team will face high-level opposition, including established names such as G2, HEROIC, GamerLegion, and others, making consistency even harder to achieve with a temporary lineup.
This is not the first time visa-related issues have disrupted BetBoom’s plans. Earlier in 2025, the team had already been forced to field stand-ins at the BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals, where Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko were unable to attend due to similar complications. At that time, the organization turned to nafany and KaiR0N- as emergency replacements.
Those earlier setbacks had a noticeable impact on the team’s development. Boombl4 later admitted that a lack of LAN experience caused by missed events made it difficult for the squad to build chemistry and perform consistently at the highest level.
The recurring nature of these visa problems highlights a broader issue affecting several teams, particularly those with players based in regions facing travel restrictions. In BetBoom’s case, the constant interruptions have prevented the roster from stabilizing and gaining momentum, despite showing promising results online and during qualification stages in the past.
From a competitive standpoint, the inclusion of FL4MUS and zorte does offer some upside. FL4MUS posted a solid 1.11 rating during his time with OG, while zorte has remained active in competition and maintained strong individual form. However, integrating stand-ins on short notice inevitably affects team coordination, especially in a structured tactical environment where roles and communication are critical.
BetBoom’s temporary lineup for the upcoming LAN run will feature Boombl4, S1ren, Magnojez, FL4MUS, and zorte. While the core remains intact, the absence of d1Ledez and ArtFr0st removes two important pieces, particularly in terms of firepower and established synergy.
Ultimately, the team’s performance in the coming weeks could determine whether they secure a spot at one of the most prestigious events of the year. With their Major hopes hanging in the balance, BetBoom must quickly adapt to yet another disrupted roster and find a way to deliver under pressure—something that has proven challenging amid ongoing logistical setbacks.
