Aurora clinch first major LAN title with hard-fought 3-2 victory over Legacy

At the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, Aurora finally broke through to win a “notable” LAN trophy, edging out Legacy 3-2 after a marathon best-of-five series.

After two prior runner-up finishes in 2025 (at the BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals and the Esports World Cup), Aurora were under pressure to deliver. With the Budapest Major looming, this breakthrough comes at a pivotal moment.

In the grand final, Aurora built an early lead on Dust2, only for Legacy to fight back via a surprise saved force-buy. Legacy then asserted control, but Aurora mounted a late resurgence, heading into the break with just two rounds in difference.

Stand-out performances were led by Turkey’s Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, whose rating of 1.36 in the final and +4.08 % round swing reflected his impact. He averaged 1.27 across 23 maps in the event, earning his first ever LAN MVP award.

Reflecting on the victory, XANTARES said: “I’m happy … the goal was to win here. That’s all I can say.” He also emphasised the importance of motivating his teammates throughout the event.

With this trophy secured, Aurora now shift focus to maintaining momentum heading into the upcoming Major, while Legacy will regroup after coming tantalisingly close.
