arT Reinvents Himself at Legacy as Brazilian CS2 Team Wins CAC 2026
Brazilian Counter-Strike veteran Andrei “arT” Piovezan is enjoying a career resurgence with Legacy after helping the team secure one of the biggest results in recent CS2 competition. The former FURIA captain has transformed both his leadership style and Legacy’s international status since joining the roster earlier this year.
Legacy’s rise culminated with a title-winning run at CS Asia Championships 2026 (CAC 2026), where the Brazilian squad defeated Falcons in the grand final and established themselves as one of the fastest-rising CS2 teams in the world.
arT Says Legacy Helped Him Become a Better Leader
Following Legacy’s victory over MIBR in the CAC 2026 semifinals, arT opened up about how the roster changed his approach to leadership.
“At Legacy I’ve managed to develop a side of myself that wasn’t really my strong suit: being a leader.”
The experienced Brazilian in-game leader explained that the current Legacy environment allows him to work more naturally with younger players while maintaining a healthier atmosphere inside the team.
According to arT, the project helped him rediscover confidence after difficult periods with both FURIA and Fluxo. The 30-year-old emphasized that he now feels comfortable balancing aggressive calling with a more supportive leadership style.
Legacy’s Results Have Improved Since arT Joined
Legacy officially signed arT in February 2026 after benching Lucas “lux” Meneghini. The move initially surprised parts of the Brazilian Counter-Strike scene because arT’s previous stint with Fluxo failed to produce major international success.
However, the roster quickly improved after the change.
Since adding arT, Legacy have:
- Reached the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 23
- Finished third at IEM Atlanta
- Won CS Asia Championships 2026
- Established themselves among the top Brazilian CS2 teams
The Brazilian squad also produced several impressive wins during their CAC campaign, including playoff victories over The MongolZ and MIBR before upsetting Falcons in the final.
Legacy Defeated Falcons to Win CAC 2026
Legacy entered the tournament as underdogs compared to Falcons, who featured one of the most star-studded CS2 lineups in the world.
Despite that, the Brazilian side delivered one of the biggest surprises of the event by defeating Falcons 3-1 in the grand final.
Legacy star Eduardo “latto” Gonçalves played a major role throughout the tournament and later received the MVP award. After the final, he admitted the victory felt especially meaningful because of the opponent’s strength.
“Both wins are special, but this one has a little extra to it because we faced Falcons.”
The title represented Legacy’s first major international trophy since signing arT and further strengthened the belief that the team can become a long-term contender in CS2 esports.
arT Previously Admitted Legacy Needed Time
Although Legacy are now producing strong results, arT previously warned fans that the roster still needed significant development.
In earlier interviews, the Brazilian captain discussed problems involving communication, chemistry, and role distribution. He specifically mentioned learning how to create more space for star rifler dumau instead of forcing himself into every aggressive opening duel.
That adjustment appears to be paying off.
dumau later explained that arT has been trying to find “a balance” between his own vision of the game and the style preferred by Legacy’s younger players.
Meanwhile, teammate saadzin praised arT’s influence outside the server, describing the veteran as an important figure for the team environment and overall structure.
From FURIA Exit to CS2 Comeback
arT remains one of the most recognizable names in Brazilian Counter-Strike history due to his aggressive calling style during FURIA’s rise between 2018 and 2020.
After leaving FURIA in 2024, many questioned whether the veteran IGL could still compete at the highest international level in CS2.
Now, Legacy’s recent success suggests arT has successfully reinvented himself.
Instead of relying purely on chaotic aggression, the Brazilian captain appears to be focusing more on structure, communication, and player development — changes that are already producing results against elite competition.
With Legacy continuing to improve in international tournaments, arT’s comeback story could become one of the defining narratives of the 2026 CS2 season.
