MOUZ (formerly known as mousesports) is a professional Counter-Strike 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) organization based in Germany, founded in 2002. As one of the longest-standing and most respected organizations in Counter-Strike history, MOUZ has built a legacy of excellence, consistency, and player development. Over two decades of competition, the team has evolved into a global powerhouse, combining veteran leadership with emerging young talent to remain at the forefront of the Counter-Strike scene.
Origins and Early History
MOUZ entered the Counter-Strike scene in the early 2000s, during the Counter-Strike 1.6 era. The organization quickly became the face of German Counter-Strike, fielding some of the most talented players in the region. Throughout the mid-2000s, MOUZ earned multiple domestic and international titles, competing at major events such as the ESWC, CPL, and Intel Extreme Masters (IEM).
Their early rosters featured German legends like Roman “roman” Ausserdorfer, Christian “Blizzard” Chmiel, and Timo “tixo” Reinhard, who helped solidify MOUZ’s reputation as one of Europe’s most feared teams. Their success culminated in multiple ESL Pro Series championships and top finishes at global tournaments, laying the foundation for the organization’s long-term prominence.
The CS:GO Era and International Expansion
With the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in 2012, MOUZ expanded beyond Germany to assemble international rosters. This transition marked a turning point in the team’s identity, as it evolved from a national powerhouse into a global contender. The arrival of players such as Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, and Robin “ropz” Kool helped establish MOUZ as a constant presence among the top teams in the world.

Between 2018 and 2020, MOUZ enjoyed one of its most successful eras, winning several major international events and establishing itself as a consistent top-five team globally. The lineup featuring chrisJ, ropz, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Özgür “woxic” Eker, and David “frozen” Čerňanský delivered numerous titles and deep playoff runs at premier events.
Transition to Counter-Strike 2 and Modern Success
With the transition to Counter-Strike 2, MOUZ continued its long-standing tradition of investing in young talent. Under the leadership of coach sycrone, the team built a new generation of stars including Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás, Dorian “xertioN” Berman, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, and Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo. This youthful lineup quickly rose through the ranks, combining sharp individual skill with structured tactical play.
In 2024, MOUZ reached a major career milestone by winning the ESL Pro League Season 19, solidifying their position as one of the best teams in the world. Their combination of youthful energy, discipline, and innovative gameplay has made them a dominant force in the new era of Counter-Strike.
