Biography
Håvard “rain” Nygaard (born August 27, 1994, Norway) is a professional Counter-Strike 2 rifler for FaZe Clan and one of the longest-serving and most iconic players in the organization’s history. Known for his aggressive entry fragging, unrivaled longevity at the top level, and clutch performances on the biggest stages, rain has been a defining figure in FaZe’s success from its early CS:GO days through the modern CS2 era.
Rain began his professional career in the early CS:GO scene with Norwegian and European mixed rosters before joining LGB eSports in 2014, where he first gained international attention for his mechanical skill and sharp aim. After a short stint with Team Kinguin in 2015, rain became a founding member of FaZe Clan when the organization entered Counter-Strike later that year. Over the following years, he established himself as one of the most feared entry fraggers in the world, renowned for his ability to crack open rounds with fearless aggression.
Under rain’s tenure, FaZe evolved into one of the most successful international rosters in Counter-Strike history. He was instrumental in their early successes, including victories at SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 (2017), ECS Season 4 Finals (2017), and EPICENTER 2018, as well as deep Major runs such as the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 grand final.
Rain’s career peak came in 2022, a year that cemented his legacy. FaZe claimed victories at IEM Katowice 2022, ESL Pro League Season 15, IEM Cologne 2022, and the PGL Major Antwerp 2022—making them the first international roster to win a CS:GO Major. Rain was named HLTV MVP of the Antwerp Major, delivering one of the best individual performances of his career and proving his enduring impact after more than seven years in FaZe.
In 2023, rain helped FaZe secure the Intel Grand Slam Season 4, winning ESL Pro League Season 17 to claim the $1,000,000 prize. Transitioning to Counter-Strike 2, rain maintained his high level of play, starting with a win at IEM Sydney 2023, the first premier CS2 tournament. In 2024, FaZe reached eight consecutive grand finals, including IEM Katowice 2024 (runner-up), PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 (runner-up), IEM Chengdu 2024 (champion), and Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 (runner-up).
Known for his calm demeanor, strong fundamentals, and willingness to take high-risk, high-reward roles, rain has remained a key piece of FaZe’s identity for nearly a decade. His combination of experience, entry fragging expertise, and adaptability has made him one of the most respected veterans in the scene.
