Biography

Finn “karrigan” Andersen (born April 14, 1990) is a Danish-German professional Counter-Strike 2 in-game leader (IGL) and captain of FaZe Clan, widely regarded as one of the greatest leaders in Counter-Strike history. Known for his strategic depth, adaptable calling, and exceptional ability to unite multinational rosters into championship-winning teams, karrigan has built a legacy spanning more than a decade in tier-one competition, from the early days of CS:GO to the modern CS2 era.

Karrigan began his career in Counter-Strike 1.6, competing for top Danish teams before transitioning to CS:GO in 2012. His leadership qualities emerged quickly as he joined rosters such as mousesports, Copenhagen Wolves, and Team Dignitas, building a reputation as a disciplined, tactically creative IGL. In 2015, he became a founding member of Astralis, formed by the ex-Team SoloMid core, marking one of the first player-owned organizations in esports.

In October 2016, karrigan was transferred to FaZe Clan, where he assembled and led one of the first true international superteams. Under his leadership, FaZe became one of the most feared lineups in the world, winning multiple S-tier events and reaching the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 grand final.

After leaving FaZe in late 2018, karrigan joined mousesports in 2019, revitalizing the roster and leading them to titles such as the CS:GO Asia Championships 2019, ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, and ICE Challenge 2020, while also securing deep runs at several other elite tournaments.

In February 2021, karrigan returned to FaZe Clan to rebuild the roster around a mix of veteran stars and rising talents. The decision paid off spectacularly—2022 became a career-defining year. FaZe won IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League Season 15, IEM Cologne, and most importantly, the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, making them the first international team to win a CS:GO Major. At 32, karrigan also became the oldest player to lift a Major trophy at that time.

FaZe’s dominance continued into 2023, with the team completing the Intel Grand Slam Season 4 after winning ESL Pro League Season 17, securing the $1,000,000 prize in record time. In the CS2 era, karrigan led FaZe to victory at IEM Sydney 2023, the first premier CS2 event, followed by a record-breaking run of consecutive grand finals in 2024, including IEM Katowice 2024 (runner-up), PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 (runner-up), IEM Chengdu 2024 (champion), and Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 (runner-up).

Karrigan’s leadership style is defined by flexibility—adjusting tactics to opponent tendencies, maximizing individual player strengths, and maintaining composure under pressure. Off the server, he holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Auditing from Copenhagen Business School, bringing analytical structure to his preparation and decision-making.
