Biography

David “frozen” Čerňanský (born July 18, 2002, Slovakia) is a professional Counter-Strike 2 rifler for FaZe Clan and one of Europe’s most consistently elite players. Renowned for impeccable crosshair placement, calm decision-making, and multi-kill impact in high-pressure rounds, frozen has built a résumé that spans early prodigy status, trophy-winning peaks with MOUZ, and Major-final runs with FaZe in the CS2 era.

Raised in the Czech–Slovak scene, frozen was already a phenomenon in his early teens—winning the Czech national championship (MČR) in 2015 at age 13 and signing professionally with eXtatus soon after. He climbed through notable regional lineups before earning his Tier-1 breakthrough in March 2019 with mousesports (MOUZ) at just 16. The impact was immediate: across late-2019 and early-2020, frozen helped MOUZ win CS:GO Asia Championships 2019, the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, cs_summit 5 (2019), and ICE Challenge 2020, while also reaching the EPICENTER 2019 grand final. In 2021, he lifted the Flashpoint Season 3 trophy and was named the tournament’s HLTV MVP, cementing his status as the roster’s star rifler and a cornerstone during roster transitions.

As the scene shifted toward CS2, frozen’s individual level never dipped. He earned HLTV Top-20 placements three years running—#17 in 2022, #12 in 2023, and #10 in 2024—recognition that reflected elite consistency against top opposition. In December 2023, he transferred to FaZe Clan, stepping into a high-usage rifle role alongside karrigan and rain. FaZe’s first CS2 year with frozen was defined by deep, arena-stage campaigns: runner-up at IEM Katowice 2024, runner-up at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, champion at IEM Chengdu 2024, and runner-up at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Those performances showcased his reliability in big matches—clean trading on offense, low-error anchors on defense, and momentum-swing rounds that stabilized FaZe in long best-of-threes.

In 2025, frozen remained a focal point as FaZe navigated roster tweaks and an increasingly competitive CS2 field. His statistical profile—strong rating against top-10 opponents, high multi-kill count, and efficient opening-duel conversion—matched the eye test: a composed, all-terrain rifler who wins percentage fights and closes halves with discipline rather than risk. Career-wise, he has well over $700,000 in prize earnings across dozens of LANs and S-tier events, a tally built on years of top-table relevance.

From prodigy to proven star, David “frozen” Čerňanský embodies modern rifle excellence: mechanically pristine, tactically unselfish, and durable across metas. As FaZe Clan continues to chase CS2’s biggest trophies, frozen’s blend of consistency and clutch presence keeps him firmly in the global elite conversation—and central to any title run.
