xfl0ud Returns to HEROIC Starting Roster Following tN1R Sale
HEROIC has announced the return of Turkish rifler Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç to its active CS2 roster, effective immediately after the Esports World Cup. xfl0ud had been benched in June following the promotion of Linus “nilo” Bergman. He replaces Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich, whose departure from the team was confirmed today.
Why xfl0ud Returns Now
-
tN1R’s exit created a vacancy that threatened HEROIC’s standing in Valve’s Regional Standings (VRS). According to Robin Nymann, HEROIC’s Director of Esports:
“In order for us to retain our VRS points and keep a core from the pre-summer roster, we had to bring back either Yasin [xfl0ud] or Alvaro [SunPayus].”
The team opted for xfl0ud. -
Nymann added that both he and Coach Tobias “TOBIZ” Theo—who leads team discussions—spoke with xfl0ud and his agent about expectations and improvements needed for reintegration. “[Yasin] has always been a solid player. We’re happy to have him back.”
Roster Turbulence and Context
-
xfl0ud was benched on June 16, with nilo taking his place after months of development. At that time, xfl0ud had delivered strong statistical results, maintaining a rating of 1.12, second-highest on the team, with a high share of opening kills (nearly 30%). He publicly acknowledged his surprise and pledged to return stronger.
-
The benching followed a turbulent season for HEROIC, with major departures: AWPer SunPayus and coach sAw both joined G2 Esports, while substitute players—including gr1ks and Alkaren on loan—were brought in. The roster saw frequent recalibration throughout summer.
What Comes Next for HEROIC
-
With xfl0ud’s return, the projected post–World Cup starting five includes LNZ, nilo, yxngstxr, xfl0ud, and Alkaren (the latter on loan). Coach is again TOBIZ, and gr1ks remains on the bench.
-
HEROIC faces a critical phase: boosting team synergy and maintaining its VRS ranking ahead of key tournaments like the Budapest Major, while navigating continued roster volatility – with the xfl0ud swap underscoring that balancing roster cohesion and performance remains a core challenge.
Key Summary Points:
-
xfl0ud rejoins HEROIC’s active roster after tN1R’s exit.
-
Leadership cites the move as essential for preserving team continuity and VRS stability.
-
xfl0ud will rejoin alongside the core pre-summer roster to face upcoming CS2 competition.
