Wildcard and vinS split after 16 months; coach cites diverging vision as NA lineup keeps reshaping

Wildcard have parted ways with head coach Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak after both sides agreed to terminate his contract early, making him free to join another project “in just a few days,” the organization announced on October 20, 2025. The Pole helped guide Wildcard through a turbulent year that still included back-to-back Major appearances and a Legends Stage run in Shanghai.

In a personal statement, vinS said his outlook no longer aligned with Wildcard’s leadership and in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz. “My vision with Peter [stanislaw] and the organization’s, has become completely different,” he wrote, adding that “what happened in the locker room should stay in the locker room.” He emphasized he doesn’t plan a break and is open to coaching anywhere—or even building a new NA project, ideally with stanislaw as captain.

A chaotic five months set the stage

The split follows a messy off-season where Wildcard cycled through multiple roster changes:

July 1: Wildcard benched AWPer Love “phzy” Smidebrant and captain stanislaw—their highest-rated player and veteran IGL—after a rocky Major season and internal tensions.

Mid-July: South African rifler Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek described the situation as “not pretty,” noting disagreements and shifting plans that blindsided teammates.

July 25: Swedish rifler Tim “susp” Ångström moved to the bench (at his request to pursue Europe), deepening the instability.

July 31: phzy joined 9INE on loan through the end of the season.

July 26: stanislaw was brought back to the starting five amid the churn.

Early September: Wildcard signed Maciej “F1KU” Miklas (ex-OG) to replace Sonic, then recalled phzy from his loan to restore the previous core ahead of Fragadelphia Fragville.

Player trust took damage—players speak out

Multiple Wildcard players have publicly questioned how decisions were made:

phzy (September 6) said the reshuffle happened without player input and claimed “ChatGPT was involved… making suggestions for players,” adding it may take time to trust the org again.

stanislaw (September 7) acknowledged “mistakes were made” but said new management had given players a stronger voice and was backing vinS’s and his vision—before this latest departure.

susp (September 16) told Fragbite he wants to return to Europe and that Wildcard were close to “breaking into tier-one” when management started making changes; morale also took a hit earlier when Jake “Stewie2K” Yip stood in for phzy to meet Americas VRS rules before the Austin Major qualifiers.

Sonic (June/July) repeatedly described trust issues around rumored moves (including the “Peeping” talks) and said he initially planned to exit before agreeing to remain to preserve the roster core.

Where Wildcard stand now

At the time of vinS’s exit, HLTV lists Wildcard’s lineup as: stanislaw, phzy, JBa, Peeping, and F1KU (with susp and fr3nd benched). Ranking and match pages reflect the recent changes and results.

Why it matters

Jozefiak’s departure removes a steadying presence from a team that, despite internal turmoil, qualified for two Majors in a row (Shanghai and Austin). His openness to start a new North American project—potentially alongside stanislaw—keeps Wildcard’s immediate future and vinS’s next step firmly in the spotlight.
