VP Claw Back Into BLAST Bounty Finals After 2–1 Win Over FaZe

Virtus.pro have secured their spot in the BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 2 Finals, overcoming FaZe Clan in a thrilling 2–1 series victory on August 9, 2025.

Match Recap

Overpass: FaZe opened strong, racing to a 5–3 CT-side lead. After halftime, Virtus.pro brought the fight back—FaZe only won two further rounds, dropping the map 13–10, thanks to VP’s resilient T-side.

Ancient: VP drew first blood with a pistol-round ace by ICY, jumping ahead 4–0. FaZe’s rifles came alive through EliGE, who finished with 25 kills, 126 ADR, and a 1.72 rating. FaZe closed the map 13–9, leveling the series.

Inferno (Decider): FaZe dominated early, taking an 8–4 half led by strong play from rain and EliGE, and a clutch 1v3 pistol from karrigan. But VP responded with a force-buy win, then ran riot—winning nine consecutive rounds to close the map and series 13–9, booking their place in the LAN Finals in Malta.

Star Performers

FL1T stood out across all three maps, earning player-of-the-match with his dominant performance on Inferno: a +10 K-D differential (52–42), 99.6 ADR, a 1.32 rating, and high KAST and impact numbers.

ICY also impressed, particularly with his Ancient pistol ace and consistent fragging across the series.

For FaZe, EliGE delivered excellence. He carried the team on Ancient and held it together on Inferno, though it wasn’t enough to clinch the series.

Context & Significance

This result marks a major bounce-back for Virtus.pro after a disappointing IEM Cologne showing. With the BLAST Bounty’s unique bounty format—where defeating higher-seeded teams offers both cash and increased bounty value for future rounds—VP’s upset over FaZe is strategically significant.

The win propels VP to the LAN Finals in Malta (August 14–17), joining the top eight teams in the finishing bracket for a share of the $500,000 prize pool
