What Happened?

Vitality entered the series with little room for another slow start.

Their opening loss to Inner Circle had immediately dropped them into the lower bracket, although a dominant 2-0 over 9z — 13-2 on Dust2 and 13-6 on Nuke — gave them their first sign of recovery. Legacy, meanwhile, had opened with a 2-0 victory against FUT before losing 1-2 to Falcons in the upper-bracket semi-final.

That made Sunday's series an elimination match, and Legacy initially looked much more comfortable with the pressure.

Vitality's own Nuke pick rapidly fell apart on the T side. Vitality led 7-5 after the opening half, but Legacy were much better once they moved onto the CT side. dumau was the center of that recovery, finishing the map with a 2.06 rating according to HLTV's report.

The decider was the first map where Vitality's offense looked functional for a sustained period.

A 6-6 opening half kept the match balanced, with apEX providing unusual amounts of fragging impact for his team. Legacy then struggled to establish their economy after moving onto the T side.

Repeated force buys and limited utility prevented try from consistently operating with an AWP behind full equipment, while Vitality were able to dictate the second half.
