Torzsi Reflects on Hostile Cluj Crowd: “Each Camera Shot Brought Loud Boos — It Really Got to Me”

Torzsi Opens Up on Crowd Backlash After PGL Cluj-Napoca: “Every Time the Camera Was On Me, I Heard the Boos”
After MOUZ secured third place at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, winning 2-0 against The MongolZ, AWPer Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás spoke candidly about the intense crowd reaction he faced following his controversial on-stage interview — admitting the boos “got to” him and acknowledging he didn’t handle the situation well.
Torzsi’s comments came after MOUZ’s semi-final loss to PARIVISION, a match famously tainted by the hostile reception he received from fans. The backlash was sparked when torzsi, visibly frustrated by boos during an interview after defeating Natus Vincere, told the crowd to “fuck off,” a moment that quickly drew widespread attention.
Facing the Fans: “It Got to Me”
In his reflection, the Hungarian player admitted the negative crowd energy affected his performance and focus during the critical semi-final matchup. “To be honest, it got to me,” torzsi said. “Every time the camera was on me, I heard the boos, and it was tough to focus.”
He described the crowd’s response as “justifiable” to an extent, acknowledging that he may not have been in the right headspace during the earlier interview and that he didn’t pick the right words. “I was a little bit too harsh,” he conceded.
Taking Responsibility
Torzsi also took responsibility for how his remarks might have influenced the atmosphere going into the semi-final. “Maybe I made a mistake and maybe I put my team not in the best position for the crowd to play the semi-finals,” he said.
Despite the criticism, torzsi stressed that MOUZ has been performing consistently and working hard throughout the season; even so, the weight of ongoing scrutiny at big events can be significant. “Sometimes it’s a lot and maybe I let it out not in the best moment,” he added.
On the Tournament Run and Next Steps
When talking about MOUZ’s performance at Cluj-Napoca overall, torzsi highlighted mixed feelings about recent match play. The team has reached several third-place deciders in recent months, and while they have had strong showings like the win over The MongolZ, they struggled in key matches like the 13-11 Dust2 loss against PARIVISION.
Torzsi described PARIVISION as a tough Dust2 opponent and noted that certain rounds slipped away due to execution errors. Reflecting on the game, he said, “We are in really good situations and we just can’t convert them.”
Looking ahead, after a short rest, MOUZ plans to head into the EPL Season, which will be played online with potential bootcamp preparation. From there, the team anticipates traveling for Rotterdam playoffs and likely IEM Rio later this year.
