The MongolZ bench Senzu in a shock roster move

October 22, 2025 — The MongolZ have removed 19-year-old star Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold from their active lineup, placing him on the bench with immediate effect. The decision ends more than two years of roster stability for the surging Mongolian side, who recently lifted the Esports World Cup trophy and made back-to-back deep runs at fall events.

In a statement on X, the organization praised Senzu’s role in the team’s rise, saying he and his teammates had “written a new chapter in Mongolian esports,” and noted the change came “after careful discussions between players and management.”

Senzu posted an emotional farewell of his own: “It feels like I’m leaving my home… We made a lot of memories together… My apologies to the ones who support us, sorry for bad news.

Why this is surprising

Since the summer break, Senzu has been one of The MongolZ’s top performers by rating, and his emergence helped transform the squad from underdogs into credible title contenders across 2025. The benching comes just weeks after the team’s landmark Esports World Cup 2025 win in Riyadh and finals appearances at BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals and FISSURE Playground 2

As of today’s announcement, The MongolZ roster is:

Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren

Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold

Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch

Ayush “mzinho” Batbold

Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat (coach)
Senzu is listed as benched; the club has not announced a replacement. HLTV currently lists The MongolZ at #2 in the world.

In September at FISSURE Playground 2, they defeated Liquid in the semifinals but lost a marathon 3–2 grand final to FURIA.

What’s next

The organization has not clarified who will fill Senzu’s role or whether any role swaps are planned. Their schedule page shows no officially listed upcoming matches at the time of writing, but the move lands in the heart of the fall circuit, making the timing especially notable.
