Team Vitality return to No.1 in Valve’s CS2 world ranking

Team Vitality have reclaimed the top spot in Valve’s official global team ranking for Counter-Strike 2. In the October 13 update, Vitality climbed two places to No.1 with 1,989 points, edging Team Falcons (1,981) into second and MOUZ into third. The top-20 also saw notable movement as FaZe posted the biggest jump (+4 to 12th), while FURIA and The MongolZ slid out of the top three.

The surge comes right after Vitality’s emphatic ESL Pro League Season 22 title in Stockholm on October 12, where they swept Falcons 3-0 in the grand final. The win ended a four-month trophy drought for the French organization and capped a standout event for Shahar “flameZ” Shushan.

Why the jump matters

Valve’s ranking (also used to shape Major invites and seeding) heavily weights recent results and opponent strength, so Vitality’s Pro League win over a high-scoring Falcons side had an immediate impact on the table.

Player reactions & quotes

Vitality rifler flameZ after lifting the Pro League trophy: “[This trophy] keeps us in a run for the era… Our goal is to stay as consistent as we can… and that will lead us to some trophies.

Team captain apEX on fan scrutiny and form swings earlier this month: “Some Vitality fans say it’s been a disaster for three months… We’ve been inconsistent for sure, but… that’s CS.

ZywOo on Vitality’s mindset this summer: “We’re just focused on ourselves and not really thinking about others.

Context: the road to No.1

Vitality’s Pro League victory ended a barren spell and followed weeks of volatility at the top (Team Spirit briefly overtook them in September). The Stockholm run resets that narrative and—per flameZ—keeps Vitality “in a run for the era.”
