Team Spirit Return to HLTV Top 3 After Winning PGL Astana 2026

Team Spirit have officially returned to the top three of the global CS2 rankings after their dominant victory at PGL Astana 2026. According to the latest update from HLTV.org, Spirit climbed two positions to secure third place in the world ranking with 445 points, trailing only Team Vitality and Natus Vincere.

The ranking boost came after Spirit’s impressive championship run at PGL Astana 2026, where the squad swept Team Falcons 3-0 in the grand final. Spirit secured victories on Dust2, Mirage, and Ancient to claim their first major CS2 trophy of 2026 and end a nine-month title drought.

Much of Spirit’s success once again revolved around superstar player Danil Kryshkovets. The 18-year-old sensation delivered one of the most dominant performances of the year and earned the HLTV MVP award for PGL Astana 2026 after finishing the tournament with an outstanding 1.61 rating.

HLTV described donk’s numbers as one of the strongest MVP-level performances seen in the CS2 era. The Russian rifler continued to prove why many fans and analysts consider him the best Counter-Strike player in the world right now.

The tournament victory also marked Team Spirit’s second consecutive PGL Astana title after previously winning the 2025 edition.

tN1R Explains Spirit’s Improved Form

Spirit’s resurgence was not only about individual firepower. Andrey Tatarinovich highlighted the team’s improved mentality and confidence after the final.

“It’s really a lot of work on my mentality,” tN1R told HLTV after the championship match.

He also explained that support from teammates and the crowd helped him regain confidence during the tournament run.

Meanwhile, interim coach Dmitry Forostyanko said he focused on improving smaller details rather than changing Spirit’s overall structure.

“We are not changing the whole system,” S0tF1k explained during the event.

The latest HLTV ranking update was also influenced by results from IEM Atlanta 2026. While Vitality remained the No. 1 CS2 team in the world, several organizations saw major movement in the standings.
