The BLAST Open Porto 2026 field has been cut to six, with Spirit, MOUZ, FURIA, Falcons, Vitality and G2 forming a stacked playoff bracket — and a new HLTV Fantasy game is now open around the title-deciding stage.

Spirit and MOUZ have the most favorable starting positions after winning their respective group brackets and advancing directly to the semi-finals. Falcons, G2, FURIA and Vitality must instead survive Friday's quarter-finals at the Super Bock Arena before they can challenge the two group winners.

The Fantasy implications are significant. Spirit and MOUZ players receive six points for skipping the quarter-finals, while the best-of-five grand final offers increased rating-point potential compared with a standard BO3. That structure has helped make Spirit superstar donk the most popular Fantasy selection despite his $245,000 price.

What happened?

HLTV opened its Fantasy game for the BLAST Open Porto playoffs after the six-team bracket was finalized.

The playoff field brings together six high-profile organizations: Spirit, MOUZ, Falcons, G2, FURIA and Vitality.

Spirit secured the Group A direct semi-final berth by defeating FURIA in the winners' match, while MOUZ earned the same privilege from Group B by beating Falcons. G2 and Vitality had to navigate their respective lower brackets to claim the final playoff places. 

The resulting bracket creates two distinct paths to the trophy.

That structure matters for both the tournament and Fantasy game. Spirit and MOUZ need only one series win to reach the grand final, while the remaining four teams must win twice to get there.

Spirit and MOUZ gain an immediate Fantasy advantage

The Fantasy format contains an unusual wrinkle for the two teams that bypassed the quarter-finals.

Players representing Spirit and MOUZ receive six Fantasy points for skipping the opening playoff round, according to HLTV. 

That reduces one of the normal disadvantages associated with selecting players who have fewer scheduled matches.

The grand final creates another scoring consideration. It will be played as a BO5, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals are BO3 series. HLTV states that the BO5 will provide 25% more rating points than regular BO3 matches. 

The combination means Fantasy managers have to balance two competing approaches: targeting quarter-final teams for additional potential maps, or investing heavily in Spirit and MOUZ players whose teams already sit one victory away from the final.

Why donk is dominating Fantasy selections

The clearest early Fantasy trend is the enormous popularity of Danil "donk" Kryshkovets.

Despite costing $245,000, donk appeared on roughly half of submitted Fantasy teams when HLTV published its breakdown, making him the most-picked player in the game. 

That is a substantial investment in a single player, particularly because Spirit will not play in the quarter-finals.

The six-point semi-final qualification bonus partially offsets that reduced match volume. More importantly, Spirit's position means donk owners are effectively betting on the team reaching Sunday's BO5 final, where the expanded series and modified rating scoring could increase his Fantasy ceiling.

The risk is equally straightforward: Spirit losing Saturday's semi-final would leave its players with only one actual playoff series.

That makes the choice less about donk's individual reputation and more about how far Fantasy managers expect Spirit to progress.

jL emerges as a lower-cost Vitality option

HLTV also highlighted Justinas "jL" Lekavicius, who is playing the tournament with Vitality as a stand-in.

jL recorded a 1.17 rating during the group stage according to the Fantasy announcement, second among Vitality's players only to ZywOo, while carrying a comparatively moderate $194,000 Fantasy price. He was the third-most-picked player when HLTV published the game overview.

Vitality's route is considerably longer than Spirit's.

They first face FURIA and, if successful, must then defeat MOUZ before reaching the BO5 final.

Vitality nevertheless arrive in Portugal with momentum after recovering from their surprise opening loss to Inner Circle. Their lower-bracket run included victories over 9z, Legacy and FUT, with the final playoff berth secured through a 2-0 victory against FUT. 

That creates an interesting Fantasy trade-off: Vitality players have more potential series available than Spirit or MOUZ, but also have another elimination match standing between them and the semi-finals.

Background: how the six playoff teams got here

BLAST Open Porto's group stage took place before the remaining six teams advanced to the arena playoffs in Portugal.

Spirit and MOUZ emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of the format.

Spirit defeated FURIA to secure its semi-final place. MOUZ did the same against Falcons, sending the latter into the quarter-final side of the bracket. 

Vitality's path was considerably less direct.

The European lineup suffered an upset defeat to Inner Circle in its opening series before rebuilding its campaign through the lower bracket. Wins over 9z, Legacy and FUT ultimately kept Vitality alive. 

G2 also survived the lower bracket, including a 2-0 elimination victory over NAVI before eventually booking its place in Porto.

Why Spirit, MOUZ, FURIA, Falcons, Vitality and G2 make this Fantasy difficult

There is no universally safe construction for this playoff game.

The bracket creates three fundamentally different Fantasy profiles.

Spirit and MOUZ have the shortest route. Their players receive the six-point bye compensation and cannot be eliminated until the semi-finals.

Falcons and G2 offer additional match-volume potential but must first eliminate each other before facing Spirit.

FURIA and Vitality have the equivalent opportunity on the opposite side, with MOUZ waiting for the winner.

That makes bracket prediction unusually important. Selecting two expensive players from a quarter-final team can become extremely valuable if that organization reaches the final, but those same selections disappear after a single series if the prediction is wrong.

Falcons vs G2 renews the teams' recent meeting from the IEM Cologne Major, while the winner moves directly into Spirit's half of the bracket. HLTV noted that a Falcons victory would create the possibility of another Spirit-Falcons meeting after their Cologne Major encounter. 

FURIA vs Vitality determines MOUZ's opponent.

That side of the bracket presents a different question: whether Vitality's recovery through the lower bracket can continue against a FURIA lineup that reached the playoffs through the upper side before losing to Spirit.

No map-pool advantage should be treated as established before the actual vetoes, so any tactical edge remains matchup-dependent.

For Spirit and MOUZ, the group-stage victories have already removed one elimination series from their championship path.

That is significant in a six-team single-elimination playoff.

There are roster-related exceptions in those games.

FlyQuest's unannounced fifth was not included in the IEM Beijing Asia qualifier Fantasy pool at publication. GamerLegion are set to use Maden instead of Tauson in the main IEM Beijing closed qualifier. Ninjas in Pyjamas were initially excluded from the Stake Ranked Fantasy game because their fifth player remained unknown, with HLTV stating that the team could be added if the replacement was announced in time. 

Impact analysis

The biggest Fantasy consequence of the BLAST playoff format is that team advancement and player performance cannot be evaluated separately.

A cheaper player who reaches three series may generate more opportunities than an expensive star eliminated immediately. Conversely, Spirit and MOUZ players begin with guaranteed bonus points and a substantially shorter route to the higher-value BO5.

That gives Fantasy managers several variables to weigh:
