Spirit Crush MOUZ to Reach PGL Astana 2026 Grand Final

Team Spirit continued their resurgence at PGL Astana 2026 with a devastating 2-0 sweep over MOUZ in the semi-finals, securing a place in the tournament’s grand final against Falcons.

The series turned into one of the most one-sided playoff matches of the event, as Spirit overwhelmed MOUZ on both Dust2 and Nuke while conceding only five total rounds. Led once again by superstar Danil Kryshkovets and supported by the consistently sharp trio of Dmitry Sokolov, Boris Vorobyev, and Myroslav Plakhotia, Spirit looked untouchable throughout the semi-final.

The veto followed a familiar pattern between the two teams. Spirit removed Inferno while MOUZ banned Anubis. Spirit selected Dust2 and MOUZ opted for Nuke, leaving Mirage as the decider — though the third map was never needed.

On Dust2, Spirit immediately seized control. Starting on the CT side, they shut down nearly every MOUZ attempt and stormed to a commanding 9-3 halftime lead. After the switch, there was no comeback in sight as Spirit quickly closed the map 13-3, completely neutralizing MOUZ’s offense.

Nuke proved even more brutal. Spirit once again dominated the first half, racing to a 10-2 advantage and leaving MOUZ with almost no room to recover. Despite a brief moment of resistance highlighted by a clutch from Ádám Torzsás, MOUZ failed to gain momentum as Spirit wrapped up the second map 13-2 to complete the sweep.

The victory further underlined Spirit’s excellent form in Astana. Just one day earlier, the Russian squad defeated G2 2-0 in the quarter-finals, a result that continued the team’s upward trajectory following recent internal adjustments involving coach Sergey Shavaev stepping back ahead of the upcoming Major season.

Spirit’s dominance over MOUZ has also become a recurring trend in 2026. Earlier this year, they eliminated MOUZ from both IEM Rio 2026 and IEM Kraków 2026 with convincing 2-0 victories.

For MOUZ, the defeat marked another disappointing playoff exit in what has become an inconsistent season despite roster changes and flashes of strong form. The European side entered Astana after edging past teams such as Aurora in the playoffs, but they had no answer for Spirit’s pace and firepower in the semi-final.

Spirit will now move on to face Falcons in the best-of-five grand final of PGL Astana 2026, while MOUZ drop into the third-place decider.
